The Bride Who Said No: Escaping the Shadows of Yesterday novel Chapter 256

"Yes, Mr. Sutton." As Jarrett was about to leave, he added, "Mr. Sutton, I've found a place near Summit University. Regarding Ms. Dawson..."

Images of the words Freya had said to Kieran earlier flashed through his mind.

"She kept saying we were over and that she had nothing to do with me anymore, right? Then let her go."

"Let her go? But, Mr. Sutton, you..."

This morning's conversation was entirely different. To keep Freya around, Kieran had even compromised by agreeing to a blind date with the Miller family.

Jarrett swallowed the rest of his sentence.

Kieran's moods had always been stable, but he'd become unpredictable since the fallout with Freya.

"Send her away. Just seeing her annoys me."

"Yes, Mr. Sutton." Jarrett turned and left the study.

Kieran leaned back in his chair, exhausted, feeling the pain on his left cheek. Images of Freya's smooth skin and her blushing cheeks invaded his thoughts. He must be out of his mind to have been daydreaming about a woman like Freya.

At dusk, Freya heard noises from downstairs, indicating someone was moving things.

Shortly after, Nancy entered her room.

Freya asked, "Nancy, what's happening outside?"

"It's Mr. Sutton. He's sent people to move your belongings, Ms. Dawson. He said the new house is ready, and it's time to move you there."

"That fast? I thought they couldn't find a place?"
