Hearing the suggestion, Jarrett hesitated, "Head over to Ms. Dawson's apartment? But, Mr. Sutton, it's quite late. Don't you think..."
‘Isn't it a bit inappropriate?’ He didn't dare to finish his thought aloud.
Kieran, however, paused before asking, "Do you think I have feelings for Freya?"
"Well..." Jarrett was at a loss for words. He thought, ‘Shouldn't the person involved be the one who knows best about their feelings?’
"Speak up." Kieran's voice turned colder.
With no choice left, Jarrett said, "It's just that... since the engagement party, Mr. Sutton, your behavior toward Ms. Dawson seems... different than before."
Kieran explained, "That's because she always manages to get under my skin. It's frustration."
"But Mr. Sutton, if you didn't care about someone, how could their words have the power to anger you?
Jarrett's remark left Kieran momentarily stunned.
Jarrett continued, "When you're around Ms. Harwood, you're always polite since you've made a commitment to her. You take responsibility seriously, and you promised to take care of her, so you won't let anyone mess with her. Even when people spread rumors about you, Mr. Sutton, you just shrug them off. But with Ms. Dawson, it's different. She's the only one who really gets to you emotionally."
"Enough." Frowning, Kieran commanded, "We’re going to Freya's apartment."
"Yes, Mr. Sutton." Jarrett directed the car toward Freya's apartment.
