The Bride Who Said No: Escaping the Shadows of Yesterday novel Chapter 301

Watching Freya gasping for air, Kieran suddenly retracted his hand, looking as if jolted back to his senses.

In a moment of rage, he had still hurt Freya despite his efforts to restrain himself.

"Cough, cough!"

Clutching her throat, Freya coughed several times in succession.

Kieran frowned, his voice tinged with regret, "I didn't mean to..."

"Enough!" Freya had no desire to hear any apologies from Kieran.

She didn't owe him anything. If it weren't for Kieran constantly threatening her with the Dawson Group, she wouldn't have to be all smiles before him.

"Mr. Sutton, can you leave now?"

When facing Freya's icy demeanor, Kieran's face darkened. "You were gone all day. I was worried about you!"

"Worried about me? I must thank you for the concern then, Mr. Sutton." Freya's reply sounded with sarcasm.

After seeing Freya's disdain for him, Kieran's emotions surged as he stepped closer. "What did I ever do to you? Why do you look so irritated every time you see me? Freya, you weren't like this before. What did I do wrong? Tell me!"

"No, Mr. Sutton, you did nothing wrong. It's my fault."

Freya winced in pain but maintained her composure, her gaze icy as she looked at Kieran, "Kieran! You didn't cherish me when I loved you. Now that I don't and I've walked away, you're not happy? How can you be so despicable?"

"You're calling me despicable?"

No one had ever dared to insult him like that! Kieran's expression grew darker. Disregarding Freya's resistance, he leaned in to kiss her again. But it was more of a bite than a kiss.

Kieran was forceful, and soon, the taste of blood spread in their mouths.

Freya, refusing to tolerate his behavior, drove her knee into Kieran's abdomen and slapped him hard across the face. The motion was fluid, even though it aggravated her wounds.
