The Bride Who Said No: Escaping the Shadows of Yesterday novel Chapter 367

Freya was still shaken from the earlier events when, upon heading upstairs, she was cornered right at her apartment door by Kieran.

The hall was totally empty, so Freya jumped a bit when Kieran showed up out of nowhere.

"What are you doing here?" she asked.

"You've caused such a mess today, and you have the nerve to ask me what I'm doing?"

Kieran pinned her against the wall, and with Freya's strength, there was no escaping his grasp.

All she could do was give in, saying, "The person who caused a mess today wasn't me, and it's not like it's affected you in any way, Mr. Sutton. Let's not forget, we've already called off our engagement. Even if my reputation is tarnished, it won't drag you down."

Seeing Freya's indifferent attitude only fueled Kieran's anger. "I've told you countless times, Preston is bad news. I warned you to stay away from him! Did you even listen?"

Freya couldn't understand why Kieran was so upset. To her, Kieran was way scarier than Preston could ever be.

"Mr. Sutton, I think it's best we keep our distance. You've already made me the talk of the town with today's exam fiasco. What more do you want?"

"You know what they say, 'you can run but you can't hide.' Preston helping you cheat, you thought you could keep it under wraps forever?"

"What nonsense are you spouting now?"

Freya had no idea where Kieran was getting his rumors from and found the whole situation tedious. She pushed past him, stating, "I don't care what you think, but if you're accusing someone without proof, that's defamation."

"You know damn well whether I'm speaking the truth. Freya, I didn't expect you to go this far, getting both Ronan and Preston to snag this year's exam papers for you. Seeing how close you were with Preston today, if it wasn't for him giving you the answers, how could you have passed today's exam with flying colors? And here I was, making special arrangements for you to have a separate exam room because of your injured hand, thinking I was being considerate."
