Unbelievably, Freya hit the jackpot! She caught the eye of Ronan! But if she ended up in Hanley's bed, wasn't that like slapping Ronan in the face?
As Freya was about to head upstairs, Johanna realized the gravity of the situation. She rushed over, grabbed Freya's arm, and blurted out, “Freya, wait! I was out of my mind. I did it all for you! Please talk to Mr. Beckett. Tell him not to take it to heart!”
Before Johanna could finish, Freya shrugged her off. Johanna almost tumbled down the stairs.
Leland hurried over to support Johanna, glaring at Freya. “Freya! My mom has apologized. What more do you want?”
Looking down from the stairs, Freya's gaze was icy. “Johanna, you have to pay for the bad things you do. This suit is Mr. Beckett’s. What if you ruined it?”
Johanna's face turned pale when she saw the black suit draped over Freya. Everything Freya said was true!
Freya smiled. “No rush, Johanna. We'll settle our scores once I call off the engagement with the Sutton family tomorrow.”
As Freya was about to head upstairs, Johanna quickly grabbed her wrist again, saying, “What? You're calling off the engagement? How can you do that? Ronan might not even marry you. If you call it off, the company will be in debt! The Sutton Group will never let our company off the hook! How can you be so thoughtless!”
“Did you forget, Johanna? We signed a contract. You have nothing to do with the company now. What I do is none of your concern.” With that, Freya shook Johanna off and headed upstairs without looking back.
“You!” Johanna was seething with rage. What would she and her son do if the Dawson Group ran out of money?
