Wisteria calmly stood and approached Yulissa arrogantly.
Meanwhile, Yulissa was trembling, rooted to the spot. Still, she gritted her teeth and spat, “Don't you dare go overboard, Ms. Summers! What do you want?”
Wisteria lowered her gaze. “It's not about what I want right now, Ms. Yantz. It's about what you want.”
In her eyes, Yulissa was but an obedient and useful lapdog.
If Yulissa performed her task well, she would be rewarded. If not, she would be tossed aside.
If not for the fact that Yulissa had done plenty of good for Wisteria in the past, the latter wouldn't have bothered to acquaint herself with the former.
Yulissa roared, “Don't think that I'm afraid of you just because you have dirt on me, Wisteria! Considering how my situation has turned out, I won't hesitate to drag you down with me! I'm fine with having a tarnished reputation, but what about you, Ms. Summers? You've always been a prestigious figure in the company. If I spill the truth to everyone, do you think you can still maintain your excellent image in the company?”
“Oh? What do you want me to do, then?” Wisteria lifted her eyebrow.
“You're the cause of this mess, so you must help me clean it up. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have set up Avery. I don't want a falling out between us, Ms. Summers. You're smart, so you understand what I mean.” The storm of emotions in Yulissa's heart had calmed slightly.
She didn't want a falling out with Wisteria because she had to rely on the latter.
In response, Wisteria sneered. So, Yulissa has learned how to threaten people, huh?
She leaned toward Yulissa's ear and whispered with intimidation, “I'm warning you, Yulissa. Some things should never escape your lips. I have records of the kickbacks you pocketed from clients. If you're charged with slander, you'll at most be fined and imprisoned for a while. However, if your bribery is exposed, there'll be trouble for you. Putting aside the fact that no one in the industry will ever hire you again, you may even need to spend a few years in prison. So, you'd better consider your choices carefully, Yulissa!”
Upon hearing that, Yulissa froze and stared at Wisteria in disbelief. I can't believe this woman is this despicable!
She chuckled in despair, met Wisteria's cold eyes, and mocked, “Now I know why Mr. Moore would rather choose that ordinary Avery over you, who has been following him for a decade. A scheming, selfish, and self-centered woman like you has no one but yourself to blame for Mr. Moore's lack of interest in you! If I were a man, I wouldn't want a specious and devious woman like you too!”
Yulissa's words were like a poison needle stabbing right into the most painful spot in Wisteria's heart, causing it to bleed black.
Immediately, Wisteria grabbed something on the table and hurled it in Yulissa's direction. “Get out! I want you out of my face now!”
Yulissa shot Wisteria a pitying look, left the room without turning her head back, and slammed the door shut.
Furiously, Wisteria swept all the documents on the table to the ground.
Hatred swirled in her eyes while a tornado of wrath consumed her heart.
After all, Yulissa once again reminded her of the cruel reality that Cayden didn't love her.
So what if he doesn't love me now? Wisteria gritted her teeth. I loved him for ten years, and I can do ten more! As long as he remains unmarried, I'll have a chance to make him mine!
