The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 473

Chapter 473

“Fine, have her give out the phone number, and you make the call. If this woman dares to say anything she shouldn’t, just cripple her!” the driver hissed with malice..

Fear crept over Rosalie’s face, but deep down, she understood that she couldn’t afford to be scared. If she allowed fear to consume her, she would lose any chance to save herself!

At least, the situation was much better than before, when she was in prison.

When she was in prison, she couldn’t avoid the harm inflicted by others, no matter how hard she tried.

No matter what kind of harm it was, she had to endure it!

The man reached for his phone, and Rosalie recited Jonathan’s phone number.

It was rather pitiable. She had been striving so hard to distance herself from Jonathan, constantly reminding herself that the man now known as Jonathan was no longer the same as Jon.

Yet, in such a critical moment, Rosalie still had to rely on Jonathan.

Soon, the call was answered, and Jonathan’s voice came through “Rosie?” The caller ID displayed an unfamiliar number, which was puzzling to him, because only Rosalie should have known this number.

“Is this your brother?” The man instantly grew angry, feeling like Rosalie was trying to deceive him.

“No, no, I don’t have a brother. He’s… my benefactor who enjoys playing the role of my brother,” Rosalie explained.

“That’s pretty disgusting!” the man spat out.

On the other end of the phone, Jonathan had begun to realize that something was wrong. He questioned, “Who are you?”

“Listen carefully, your beloved is in our hands. If you want to rescue her, prepare 2 million dollars and transfer it to the account we specify,” the man declared.

“Fine,” Jonathan agreed without hesitation. “But if you dare to harm her, you won’t get a single penny.”

“You can prepare the money first!”

“I’m serious. If you hurt her, you’ll live the rest of your days in torment.” The cold voice, even through the phone, still gave a strong sense of oppression.

So much so that the man holding the phone’s hand trembled for a moment, and the phone in his hand almost slipped to the ground.

“I want to hear her voice!” Jonathan added.

Reluctantly, the man handed the phone over to Rosalie, whose hands were still tied. “Hey, your benefactor wants to hear your voice!”

“J-Jon…” Rosalie bit her lip and spoke with some difficulty.

“How are you? Are you okay?”

“I’m not hurt now,” she replied.

“Don’t worry. I won’t let you get hurt,” Jonathan reassured her.

It was a short sentence, but it brought an inexplicable sense of comfort to her heart.

“Alright, that’s it! 2 million dollars, not a penny less!” the man said and ended the call. Then, he texted Jonathan the account number.

“You know, your benefactor seems quite wealthy, not hesitating at all to transfer 2 million dollars.” the man chuckled. “Once we get that 2 million dollars, we can…”

“Enough with the talking. Get the money first, and then we’ll see!” the driver scolded him.

The man stopped talking, and they left Rosalie alone for the moment.

Rosalie knew that the two men wouldn’t release her even after receiving the money, and would likely continue to harm her.

But she wasn’t worried at this point.

Was it because of Jonathan? She was confident that he would come to her rescue.

Thinking about it, Rosalie couldn’t help but smile bitterly again.

She had planned to rely on herself entirely, but now, it seemed she was still relying on him.

The van driven by the kidnappers headed towards the southern part of the city, taking a more secluded route. They were close to getting out of the city!

Rosalie had no idea how Jonathan had planned for her rescue. However, as they approached the highway exit, the van suddenly came to a halt.

“Why did you stop?” the man sitting behind with Rosalie asked the driver.

But the driver didn’t answer.

Growing impatient, the man glared at Rosalie. “You better behave yourself!” He then leaned forward, halfway out of his seat, and peered through the windshield.

Suddenly, the man froze, his face contorting to a shocked expression, and his body involuntarily trembled.

“What the hell was going on?” Rosalie thought to herself.

At this moment, with her hands tied and lying in the car, Rosalie couldn’t sit up and couldn’t see what was happening outside the car’s front.

Just then, a loudspeaker outside the car announced, “To the individuals in the vehicle, you are being surrounded. Surrender now and do not harm the hostage. Otherwise, the only ones getting hurt or killed will be you!”

Rosalie was bewildered. “Surrounded?” she repeated in her heart.

She wondered if it was Jonathan’s doing.

The van’s door was forcibly opened, and police officers in uniform swiftly apprehended the two men and took them out of the vehicle. Following them, a figure entered Rosalie’s view.

It was Jonathan!
