Chapter 627
Calvin thought, “The clothes she wore were the same as those in that photo, and Jonathan…” Calvin looked past Rosalie and saw Jonathan sitting in the car.
The backseat door was not closed at this moment, so he could see Jonathan wearing that white suit as in the photo.
Rosalie approached Calvin step by step until she was two steps away before stopping.
“You forced the car to stop because you wanted to look for me, right?” she took the initiative and asked. “Did you and… Jonathan register for marriage today?” Calvin questioned in a hoarse voice.
“Yes,” Rosalie replied.
“Why?” His one word was almost squeezed out between gritted teeth.
“I’m pregnant. It’s Jonathan’s child.” Compared with Calvin’s agitation at the moment, Rosalie was calm.
Calvin’s face suddenly turned pale, and his eyes fell on her abdomen in disbelief. He thought, “Is she really pregnant? I thought those words Jonathan said were just to piss me off.” But now, reality hit him hard.
The woman he loved had married another man and even got pregnant with that man’s child.
“If he forced you to because of the child, I can-”
But before Calvin could finish his words, Rosalie interrupted him, “Jon didn’t force me. I did this out of my own free will. I’m perfectly willing to marry him!”
“She’s willing to?” Calvin questioned inwardly and felt a sharp pain in his heart. He felt that Rosalie’s words were piercing to his ears. “Do you love Jonathan?” Calvin asked as he took a step closer. Rosalie was silent. At this point, she still couldn’t even tell whether she still loved Jonathan or not. After all, the relationship Rosalie had was already in shambles. Could she piece it back to how it used to be?
“You don’t love Jonathan, do you? In that case, why would you say you’re willing?” Calvin continued hurriedly, “I can help you. As long as you don’t want to get married, I will definitely let you regain your freedom.”
Rosalie suddenly had an urge to smile bitterly. Once, she hoped that Calvin could help her. She stood at the door of his mansion for one whole night. At that time, he was her hope.
But in the end, this hope turned into despair.
But now, Calvin said he would come to help Rosalie.
“Cal,” Rosalie said slowly, “this should be the last time I call you that. I won’t call you that again.”
Calvin’s body suddenly stiffened, and confusion and surprise appeared in his eyes.
“Cal…” Calvin reminisced in his head. In the past, he only wanted to find the little girl who saved him and then wanted to hear that person call him “Cal” again.
However, Calvin found Fiona, someone different from what he had imagined.
Fiona was no longer as self-reliant and principled as she was younger. Instead, she became vain, enamored with famous brands, aspired to live a lavish lifestyle, and wanted to become a celebrity.
Therefore, he didn’t allow Fiona to call him “Cal” again. The name was like a taboo and locked away in his
memory.
But now, she called him “Cal” again. Why was she doing this?
In his mind, he suddenly remembered that last time in the hospital, she also called him “Cal” and told him she was the little girl he met when he was a child!
But at that time, he thought she said that to save Lucas! “Could it be… Could it be…” he thought.
For a moment, he almost dared not think about it.
Rosalie continued, “I appreciate you saving my life more than once. And I know your feelings for me, but I can’t reciprocate your feelings. My feelings for you were never love. In the future, don’t love me
anymore or waste your time on me. As for your kindness in saving my life, I will definitely repay you if I get the chance one day.”
“What I need is not your repayment!” Calvin stared at her and said in a trembling voice, “Tell me, are
the little girl I’ve been looking for?”
you…
“The answer… Is it still important now?” Rosalie replied calmly.
“You’re the little girl, aren’t you?” He tried to grab her, but another man’s arm stretched out and blocked Calvin’s hand.
The next moment, Rosalie’s waist was held by a big hand, and her back leaned against a chest. In an instant, a familiar scent filled her nostrils.
“Calvin, what are you trying to do to my wife?” Jonathan’s voice suddenly sounded.
Calvin’s body trembled, and then he straightened his back. His eyes met Jonathan’s dark eyes, but the word “wife” was too painful for Calvin to hear. “I just want to know if she is the one I have been looking for!”
“Haven’t you found her already? What else is there to know?” Jonathan said indifferently as if he was ridiculing him.
