Chapter 703
Suddenly, the feeling of his hand being empty made Warren feel dazed for a
moment.
“Warren…” Irene’s voice, filled with agony, abruptly snapped him out of his trance.
Warren crouched beside Irene, his eyes locked on her disheveled figure. She looked very pale, and her lips were trembling.
“Warren, I… I wanted Aiden to meet my parents, hoping to be a good mother someday, but… I didn’t expect it to be like this. I…” Irene spoke with difficulty, appearing innocent and kind.
Irene suddenly felt a sharp pain in her stomach and frowned. She said, “It hurts… My stomach hurts, Warren…”
Warren frowned and said, “All right. Stop talking. I’m taking you to the hospital right now.”
When Warren picked Irene up, he noticed that the part of her dress that covered her hips was already stained with blood.
Irene wore a white dress today, which made her bloodstains more noticeable and shocking.
Thomas and Ivy were taken aback. “Why is there blood? What did Amelia do to you that caused you to bleed, Irene?”
Amelia was also surprised by what had happened to Irene. It seemed Irene had just fallen. But even if the things on the table had fallen and hit her, it wouldn’t explain the excessive bleeding.
Within a moment, Amelia’s body instantly became rigid. Such a scene once again reminded her of what had happened that year.
At that time, Irene had fallen down the stairs. The situation was very similar. Blood had stained her dress, and she had shown pain on her face. Then, she had been carried to the hospital by Warren.
And now, the scene was so remarkably similar to that one from back then.
“Is Irene doing the same thing as before?” Amelia wondered.
At that moment, Amelia felt a chilling sensation all over her body.
Warren was terrified when he saw Irene’s blood. He quickly picked her up and left the private room.
Before leaving the private room, he turned around and warned Amelia, saying, “If anything happens to Irene, I will make you pay with your life, Amelia!”
Amelia looked at the man before her, pondering, ‘My life? It seems that he is indeed cruel to me!/
He did the same thing back then and spoke harshly to me while holding Irene.

After all these years, it turns out that nothing has changed.
Irene is a precious gem to him, while I’m just a speck of dirt in the ground!’ She was relieved that she had just removed Aiden’s hearing aid, ensuring he couldn’t hear it.
“Irene doesn’t deserve my life,” she said coldly.
“You…” Warren glared at her but was stunned to see how thin Amelia’s face was.
“When did she get so thin? She seems to have lost even more weight since our last visit to the amusement park. Even her hands holding Aiden, every finger bone was so visible.”
He suddenly recalled the scene where he had grabbed her wrist just now. It was very thin, much thinner than before.
He felt a tingling pain in his heart that began to spread.
“Warren, what’s wrong? Why did you suddenly stop walking?” Ivy asked.
Warren was shocked but quickly regained his composure and hurriedly left while holding Irene.
Thomas and Ivy glared at Amelia with malicious intent, speaking to her in a harsh tone, “This isn’t over. Irene is much more precious than you!”
Amelia stared back at them coldly. Despite the indifference on her face, she continued hugging Aiden, burying his face in her embrace to prevent him from seeing the ugly reality of the adult world.
Amelia felt exhausted after taking Aiden back to her house.
Matilda held Aiden in her arms with lingering fear and said, “Thank goodness you’re finally home.” She was afraid something might happen, but fortunately, Amelia and Aiden had returned safely.
Amelia let out a sigh and said, “Mom, please take care of Aiden. I need to go to the room… to change my clothes.”
Matilda was stunned for a moment and then noticed that Amelia’s face turned pale. She noticed that Amelia was touching her right upper abdomen and quickly realized that Amelia was in pain. She had said it that way because she didn’t want Aiden to know.
Therefore, Matilda immediately said, “All right. Go get changed.”
Amelia returned to her room and retrieved the painkiller prescribed by the hospital. She quickly took it and lay on the bed, curling up, waiting for the pain to subside slowly.
She mused, ‘Today’s incident won’t end just like this.
The Fletcher family has caused a big commotion today. It would be a shame to waste all their careful planning.
However, with my current condition, I can’t do anything.’
