The CEO's Hidden Love: Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires novel Chapter 1356

Dorothy was just there for a job interview, not officially starting her work, so stumbling upon Perdita at this hour caught her off-guard.

Even more surprising was seeing Perdita chatting up Everett.

Everett, as usual, had his stoic, handsome face on, which only softened upon laying eyes on Dorothy.

“Ms. Sanchez!” Following his gaze, Perdita also caught sight of Dorothy. Her face, however, didn’t betray any awkwardness, but was all smiles, “Just off work?”

“Yeah.” Dorothy approached Everett, who reached out to take her hand without hesitation.

Perdita glanced curiously at their intertwined hands, momentarily taken aback.

“Mr. Lopez is… Ms. Sanchez’s boyfriend?”

Dorothy wasn’t surprised by her astonishment.

Given Perdita had just returned from abroad, it made sense she was out of the loop about their relationship.

“Yep,” Dorothy confirmed with a nod, seeing no reason to hide it.

“Oh my! I’ve always admired Mr. Lopez’s work back when I was in the UK. To think I’d end up working for his girlfriend’s company, what a surprise!” Perdita’s excitement was palpable, revealing her youthful spirit despite her professional setting.

As the two women chatted, Everett stood by, listening, his expression unchanging, his focus solely on Dorothy.

After a brief conversation, Perdita excused herself, “I won’t keep you two from heading home, Ms. Sanchez, Mr. Lopez. See you tomorrow!”

“Sure.”

Once Perdita left, Dorothy looked up at Everett, her eyes gleaming with amusement.

“You sure have a knack for attracting admirers wherever you go.”

Everett had no interest in so-called admirers, “She’s your new hire?”

Was she supposed to just walk up and say, ‘Hey, remember me from middle school?’

What if Everett denied knowing her or thought she was making it up? That would’ve been mortifying!

“If you’d been braver back then, maybe we would’ve gotten together sooner.”

Dorothy pouted, “Then why didn’t you confess sooner?”

He spread his hands, “I did, you just didn’t say yes.”

“…”

“If we’d started dating back in middle school, our kids would probably be dating by now.”

Dorothy blushed, playfully smacking his arm, “Even if we had dated in middle school, I wouldn’t have...you know, that early!”
