In my mind, Dorothy’s cooking never seemed to pack such a punch.
Perhaps sensing Everett's hesitation as he fumbled with his fork, Dorothy looked up, her gaze meeting his, "Not to your taste?"
"No, it's delicious."
He offered a small smile, then returned to his meal.
At that moment, Everett wouldn’t dare to criticize. Who knew what he’d have to face later?
They continued eating in silence until Dorothy suddenly spoke up.
"The dish is a bit salty."
"...A little."
"Want some water? Let me get you a glass."
Everett, pleasantly surprised, started to stand, "I can get it."
"No, you sit. I’ve got it."
With that, Dorothy turned and walked into the kitchen.
Soon, she came back with two glasses of water, pushing one towards Everett.
"Good thing I didn't make this for Abigail and Langston. Too much salt isn't good for the kids' stomachs." Dorothy's tone was as casual as if she was discussing the weather, a stark contrast to the cold demeanor she had when Everett first walked in.
After he finished his water and set the glass on the table, he assured, "It's okay, I enjoyed it."
"Then why break up?"
"..."
Everett hadn’t expected to be blindsided by that question here.
"Everett, you falling for Quincy is hard for me to believe. Didn’t you once say you were a bit of a neat freak?" Her lips twitched into a smile as she put down her fork, "I’m not wrong, am I?"

The readers' comments on the novel: The CEO's Hidden Love: Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires
Sometimes Karen can be such a drama queen and immature....
For some reason I am now feeling suspicious about Kevin's new girlfriend....
I really hope this Perdita person is not a new villain....
I too echoed the sentiments of pppplllleeeaaaassssseeeeee bring this drama to an end. I beg of you!...
Really please finish this book and upload the full story so it can end. It's been drugout for so long!...
The intimate scenes in this story or uncomfortable to read. They either come off as being forced, painful, or simply not enjoyable....
Okay I left a long while ago and came back. Looks like it's been updated but still not done lol. I'll maybe wait 6 months before coming back and it'll probably still be going on. It's like a soap opera instead of a novel...
Kenneth is confirming something I've been thinking about him for several hundred chapters ago and that is he is a future murder suicide perpetrator. And after reading chapter 1275 yeah it's just brought the thought back....
How could Jeffrey throw the knife down at the scene of the crime with both their fingerprints on there?...
Again no update, so is this where it ends? Or post the whole book. Your dragging this out...
