Everett had never had his cheeks pinched before, leaving him momentarily stunned.
Watching Dorothy break into laughter, he sighed, "In my entire life, only you dare to treat me this way."
"And I dare to do a lot of things others wouldn't!" she retorted.
"Like what?"
Dorothy pondered for a moment, "Like kissing you, hugging you, holding your hand, sleeping in your bed."
If that was the case, Everett realized he had indeed granted her many unique privileges.
"And having your baby," she added, with a playful glare.
"Enough about that, you should head back to bed. You've got work tomorrow! I'll feel better soon and head back, don't worry."
"How could I possibly leave?"
How could he peacefully go back to sleep knowing she was in discomfort?
Dorothy was about to suggest she could return as well, thinking of enduring the discomfort until Everett fell asleep. But he gently patted her shoulder first, soothing her worries.
"When you brought up wanting a child, didn't we agree to face everything together? Now that you're feeling this way, you want me to leave?"
"..."
Everett held her hand, his palm warm and firm.
"I'll stay with you, let's welcome this baby together. I don't want to have any regrets."
Dorothy looked up at him, then slowly nodded.
"Okay."
...
Dorothy's luggage was filled with clothes and toys for Abigail and Langston, while Everett's... apart from a few sets of his own clothes, was packed with sour plum powder.
Karen teased him, saying anyone would think he was smuggling sour plum powder into Everglow City!
With a sizable group, Everett booked the entire first-class cabin of the plane, bringing along even Felicity Miller, making it feel like a grand migration.
"Doughy and adorable," Dorothy couldn't help but adore Felicity Miller.
She inherited most of Jeffrey's features, with thick eyebrows, big double-lidded eyes, and a high nose bridge, even as a baby. Karen's genes manifested in her complexion.
Felicity Miller was incredibly fair.
Abigail was already noticeably pale among children, but Felicity was even a shade lighter.
This trait, she got from Karen.
"Looks like me, doesn't it?" Jeffrey, hearing his daughter praised, immediately joined in, pulling up his baby photos on his phone. "Look, she's practically my clone!"

Why didn't Jeffrey call Everett from the office? Lock his door instruct security to not let anyone in and speak to Everett on the phone? Or send him a text giving him a quick summary of what's up and that he's on his way over. That way when he runs into Heather on his way out he informs her Everett already knows....
