Miles' face flushed a deeper shade of red than Felicity's as she spoke, his embarrassment palpable.
"I'll try to be careful..." he offered weakly.
But let's be real, for a man pushing thirty, with only a distant memory of intimacy from five years ago, restraint was a tall order. Now, with Felicity within reach again, all previous promises were tossed aside like yesterday's newspaper.
However, due to his lack of recent experience, Miles' first attempt ended embarrassingly short of the ten-minute mark!
Felicity, hand on her stomach and pushing him away, exclaimed, "You're done, why are you still here?"
For the first time, Miles found himself drowning in a sea of embarrassment.
"Let's go again."
"No way!" Felicity protested, not caring about his performance, her concern was her discomfort. "You need to leave...ugh!"
But halting now would be akin to a death sentence for Miles.
He knew Felicity too well. It wouldn't take three days before rumors of his brief endurance would spread like wildfire.
He had to redeem himself before the whispers began.

Late at night, the warehouse was still bustling with activity.
Craig, having just finished offloading a truckload of goods, took a well-earned break on the steps, lighting up a cigarette.
Carl, his coworker, tired from the night's labor, approached, asking for a smoke. Craig, without a word, tossed him a cigarette and lighter.
"Man, did you see that Mercedes blocking your truck at the freeway exit today? That's easily worth a few hundred grand, right?" Carl inquired, taking a drag.
The boss chuckled, transferring the night's pay via a quick phone transaction. "There, all settled. Check it for yourself."
Craig confirmed the amount and was ready to leave. "Alright, I'm off. Catch you next time, Blake."
"Sure thing, I'll call you for the next job!"
Exiting the warehouse, Craig shared his earnings with his fellow drivers.
Noticing Carl struggling with a few remaining boxes, Craig lent a hand, quickly clearing the task.
"All done here. I'm heading out."
Wiping his brow, he turned to leave, but Carl, ever persistent, teased, "What's the rush? It's not like you're heading home to a wife. Come on, let's hit the town."
Craig, caught between the lure of companionship and the solitude of his own company, hesitated. The night was still young, and the city's lights flickered with the promise of escapism.
