"Like, whether it's a backyard wedding or one in a quaint old church, the style of the wedding dress has to match the vibe.
But a beach wedding? That's a hard pass for me! I went to one once, and let me tell you, when the wind picks up, it's like the bride's about to be blown away to Oz!
"Alright, I'm all ears."
Felicity nodded, her gaze locking with his. "Has Esther gotten back to you?"
"No, she called a couple of times, but I was in a meeting and couldn't pick up."
"No wonder she said she couldn't reach you! Why didn’t you call her back?"
Miles hesitated, then ventured, "If I call her, you won't get mad?"
He was really worried that if Felicity found out, she'd bring up the whole "equality" argument again!
Then Felicity would insist that if he can call Esther, she should be able to call Calvin. That's what equality would look like!
Miles was genuinely scared of that scenario.
"You could just delete the call log after calling her, then I wouldn’t know, right?"
She spread her hands, her mind sharp as a tack at times like these, even outsmarting herself!
"…I don’t want to lie to you."
Miles was afraid of accumulating lies. If one was ever discovered, the trust between them would crumble!
As a businessman, he valued trust above all else.
Besides, there was no need to lie to Felicity!
"Good, you're teachable," she said with a smile, patting his shoulder. "Let’s head out for dinner, I’m starving!"
"Sure."
As they neared the restaurant, Felicity received a photo from Abigail.
It was a sneaky shot of Craig in a suit.
The man, with his long arms and legs, was a natural clothes horse!
He practically lived in dark suits, wearing them daily.
Yet Felicity never praised him for being "very" handsome!
"…Are you jealous?"
"No, just asking."
"Hahaha!" Seeing his pout, Felicity playfully slapped Miles's arm, "Come on, don't be so sensitive. You and Craig aren't even the same type!"
Miles was pretty in a refined way, with delicate features. Each aspect of his face was flawless.
His parents had stellar genes, so his good looks were a given!
But Craig was different. He seemed... seasoned, with a depth in his eyes, exuding a solid, competent vibe along with rugged handsomeness.
"Which type do you prefer?"
"…Obviously you! If I liked Craig, that would be quite the story."
