"If you cheer me up, I might just teach you a thing or two more! It's something you'll definitely need later on when you start your own delivery service."
Craig clicked his tongue, stepping back.
Aurora grabbed him, "Are you sure you won't agree?"
"Let's wait until we're married to move in together."
"Can't we just, you know, hang out together under the same roof... Just talk under a blanket? I never said we had to... do anything."
Saying it so bluntly, any girl would feel embarrassed!
It's like she's forcing a decent guy into something.
"No way."
"Then go figure it out yourself."
Aurora let go, running to his closet to grab the flip-flops she'd left there before, swapping out her high heels.
"I went out to pick up some canvases today, nearly killed me! If I'd known, I wouldn't have worn high heels, look, my ankle's all blistered and bleeding!"
Craig glanced over, his expression softening as he got up to fetch the first aid kit.
Speaking of which, the first aid kit was Aurora's idea, insisting every home needed one!
Before he met her, Craig never paid much mind to cuts or bruises.
If he ever wrapped a bandage around himself before heading out, it was only because it was too much of a hassle to work with.
"Stretch your foot out, I'll clean it with iodine."
Aurora immediately protested, "No, that hurts like hell! Iodine stings more than the wound itself!"
"Do you want it to scar?"
Close by, Craig's laughter was deep, his gaze tender as he carefully dabbed iodine on her wound, being as gentle as possible to avoid causing her pain.
From the side, she watched him. Craig's eyelashes were long and lush, his nose prominent, and his eyes deep-set under thin eyelids that folded into a crease when he concentrated.
"Craig." She suddenly called out.
"Hmm?"
"Can I just stay here tonight? I don't want to go home, it's so cold and lonely there, no one to talk to."
"Then go back to your parents' place."
Aurora pouted, "I don't want to be a third wheel! You have no idea how clingy my dad gets around my mom when they're alone!"
"..." That was indeed hard to imagine.
"Besides, you've already met my parents, right? Getting married is just a matter of time, so staying over shouldn't be a problem, right?" She tugged at Craig's shirt, inching closer, "We won't do anything, I'll just talk to you about the stock market, okay?"
