"Heather, any objections?" Before Dorothy could say anything, Everett cut in, his towering figure stepping right in front of her.
The way he stood there, it was as if he was ready to throw down with Heather if she dared to sass Dorothy one more time.
In front of Everett, Heather couldn't keep up her cocky attitude.
She furrowed her brows, glanced at Everett, and said, "Don't forget what you promised your father."
With that, she turned around and left.
Surprisingly, Dorothy didn't ask about the comment she left behind.
"I'm done here, let's go home."
"All right."
Instead of letting the driver take them, Everett drove her back to Bay Residence himself.
They picked up some fruits and vegetables on the way home and whipped up a simple dinner in the kitchen.
As they were finishing up, Dorothy hesitated, cutlery in hand, and said, "You should take back the account and password you gave me. It'll put your partners at ease."
Everett paused for a moment, his lips curling into a slight smile, "They're not worried."
"You don't have to lie to me. After what happened, it's normal for them to suspect me. I get it! You don't have to put yourself under so much pressure just to give me this job."
Kevin would have been the best choice for that. The partners knew him well, and he had never messed up in all his years working with Everett.
It would have been normal for an assistant like her to do it, but now there was the leak. It tainted her image and made her less trustworthy.
"Dorothy, I'm the one calling the shots here. If I think you can handle it, then you can."
Dorothy remained unsure.

The readers' comments on the novel: The CEO's Hidden Love: Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires
Sometimes Karen can be such a drama queen and immature....
For some reason I am now feeling suspicious about Kevin's new girlfriend....
I really hope this Perdita person is not a new villain....
I too echoed the sentiments of pppplllleeeaaaassssseeeeee bring this drama to an end. I beg of you!...
Really please finish this book and upload the full story so it can end. It's been drugout for so long!...
The intimate scenes in this story or uncomfortable to read. They either come off as being forced, painful, or simply not enjoyable....
Okay I left a long while ago and came back. Looks like it's been updated but still not done lol. I'll maybe wait 6 months before coming back and it'll probably still be going on. It's like a soap opera instead of a novel...
Kenneth is confirming something I've been thinking about him for several hundred chapters ago and that is he is a future murder suicide perpetrator. And after reading chapter 1275 yeah it's just brought the thought back....
How could Jeffrey throw the knife down at the scene of the crime with both their fingerprints on there?...
Again no update, so is this where it ends? Or post the whole book. Your dragging this out...
