What if the person had nefarious intentions?
Or perhaps they thought the boy looked like Everett and wanted to kidnap him for a ransom.
"You're just too hasty! Use your head for a second, and you'll realize he must have been taken by someone who was looking for him. Who else could pinpoint his exact location among all the hotels in Eldorria City?"
Jeffrey pondered a bit. She seemed to have a point. Her theory seemed plausible.
"But what do we tell Everett when he comes back?"
Everett had specifically returned for the boy.
"What else can you say? If all else fails, tell Everett it was a prank. I can help keep the folks at the office quiet." Heather was really going all out to help.
Jeffrey, however, after some thought, declined her "kindness."
"I can't say that. The boy did come. I have to let Everett investigate if he is indeed his son. If he is, then what could the other party's intentions be?" Jeffrey felt that even if he got scolded, it would be better than the other party scheming something to harm Everett later.
Since they had discovered this, they should let Everett investigate. There must be some trail to follow.
"What other intention could there be? It's all about money! The other party probably felt it wasn't the right time and took the boy back. Everett has been so stressed out with work lately; why do you always have to stir up trouble?" Heather sighed helplessly as her eyebrows furrowed in frustration. "I'm not even sure if you're truly looking out for Everett anymore."
"At a time like this, can you stop with the cold remarks?" Jeffrey was in a bad mood.
Suddenly, he turned to look at Heather. "You... Is your heart condition not bothering you anymore?"
She was standing here, having a full-blown discussion with him.
"Ah… I felt better after seeing the doctor." Heather's face froze for a moment before she feigned innocence. "Why? You think I took the boy? He was with you, not me! I was in the car with you when he disappeared!"
Jeffrey rubbed his temples. "I didn't say it was you."
"Whatever! Just think about how you're going to explain this to Everett. I'm heading back to the office."

The readers' comments on the novel: The CEO's Hidden Love: Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires
Sometimes Karen can be such a drama queen and immature....
For some reason I am now feeling suspicious about Kevin's new girlfriend....
I really hope this Perdita person is not a new villain....

Really please finish this book and upload the full story so it can end. It's been drugout for so long!...
The intimate scenes in this story or uncomfortable to read. They either come off as being forced, painful, or simply not enjoyable....
Okay I left a long while ago and came back. Looks like it's been updated but still not done lol. I'll maybe wait 6 months before coming back and it'll probably still be going on. It's like a soap opera instead of a novel...
Kenneth is confirming something I've been thinking about him for several hundred chapters ago and that is he is a future murder suicide perpetrator. And after reading chapter 1275 yeah it's just brought the thought back....
How could Jeffrey throw the knife down at the scene of the crime with both their fingerprints on there?...
Again no update, so is this where it ends? Or post the whole book. Your dragging this out...
