Dorothy was amused by his sense of humor.
"That's a bit morbid, don't you think?"
"It's not morbid. They got what they deserved. They will have their comeuppance."
A faint smile played around Dorothy's face because of this sensitive topic, "Besides, Everett has already remarried. Suddenly with two kids out of nowhere, it's not fair to his current wife."
Ever since she saw the bite mark on Everett's shoulder, Dorothy had been plagued with guilt.
She never imagined that she would covet another woman's husband! But the fact was, she did, and even acted on it at Everett's home!
If she put herself in the shoes of Everett's current wife, how would she feel when she found out?
She shouldn't have done what she did!
"Stop overthinking it. You're ready to leave anyway. Let the past be the past."
"Yeah, you're right. Once I leave, time will heal everything."
She sincerely hoped that Everett could let go of his emotional burden with her departure.
Only then could he truly loved his wife just as he loved her.
As they were talking, Dorothy's phone suddenly buzzed!
She glanced down and saw a text message.
[Mommy, it's Langston! There are some things I need to deal with. Don't worry about me. I'll come find you and sister once I'm done!]
Dorothy immediately dialed the number from which the text was sent, but it was a virtual number and she couldn't get through.
"What's wrong?" Kenneth noticed her worried expression.
"Langston must have left again! Quick, contact Karen and see if we can bring him back."
"Okay!"
"They took me to a warehouse in the suburbs. How could you find me?" Langston was remarkably calm, even taking out his phone to show him the location.
"Here?"
"Yes."
Jeffrey immediately called his men, "Check out this place. Let me know as soon as you find anything."
"Yes, Mr. Turner."
Langston watched him instruct his men and smiled, "Mr. Turner, what do you want to find out? You could just ask me."
"Of course, I want to know who took you! You have no idea how hard it was to find you."
After finding Langston, Jeffrey was almost in tears!
"The warehouse is owned by a guy named Kyle, but the password starts with an L, so I guess the actual user of this warehouse isn't Kyle. I intercepted a phone signal in the area and found a phone number."

The readers' comments on the novel: The CEO's Hidden Love: Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires
Why didn't Jeffrey call Everett from the office? Lock his door instruct security to not let anyone in and speak to Everett on the phone? Or send him a text giving him a quick summary of what's up and that he's on his way over. That way when he runs into Heather on his way out he informs her Everett already knows....
