In the Bay Residence, Everett had cleared his schedule, canceling several meetings to spend some quality time with his newly discovered son.
It was quite a surprise to suddenly have a son, and in Langston’s presence, Everett couldn't help but feel a bit out of his element, tinged with a touch of awkwardness.
"What…would you like to eat?" he asked.
Langston looked at him and slumped onto the couch, "Didn't we just have lunch?"
"Then, something to drink, or snacks? I can send someone to buy whatever you like." Everett was not particularly adept at catering to children, but he was trying his best to figure out what kids usually enjoy.
However, his son was far from an average child. Langston's first request was, "Where's the laptop you promised me? I want to play on the computer."
Everett immediately ordered Kevin to bring the laptop.
But before that, he had a question to ask, "Was it you who messed with the Lopez Corporation's software?"
Langston didn't bother to conceal anything and simply nodded. "Because you had it coming."
"Did your mother tell you that I'm a jerk?" Everett was trying to glean some information about his son's mother from their conversation.
But Langston was no fool. He looked up at Everett and smirked.
"Don't treat me like a kid! I know what you're thinking, but you don't know what I'm thinking!"
In the spacious living room, the two faces bearing a 99% resemblance locked eyes, their gazes meeting.
After a while, a hint of a smile finally appeared on Everett's handsome face.
"Who says I don't know? You're here for revenge, aren't you? You moved in here to gather evidence against me, right?" Everett wasn't born yesterday.
Although this kid was clever, he was still just that – a kid.
Especially the fact that he insisted on using Jeffrey's laptop and didn't resist coming home with him, it was clear what his intentions were.
To his surprise, the caller ID revealed Jefferey!
What could he want? Probably worried about how he was getting along with the kid.
Everett, in a rare good mood, answered Jeffrey's call.
However, Jefferey’s tone was urgent.
"Everett, are you still at the Bay Residence? I need to talk to you about something!"
"I'm here, are you on your way?"
"Yeah, wait for me! I need to talk to you about Heather..."
Before Jeffrey could finish, there was a sudden loud noise on the other end of the line!

The readers' comments on the novel: The CEO's Hidden Love: Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires
Why didn't Jeffrey call Everett from the office? Lock his door instruct security to not let anyone in and speak to Everett on the phone? Or send him a text giving him a quick summary of what's up and that he's on his way over. That way when he runs into Heather on his way out he informs her Everett already knows....
