At this moment, the silhouette of Eldorria City Airport loomed in the distance through the airplane's window—a stark reminder that Jeffrey's time was running out.
He knew that if he let Karen leave without snagging her contact information, it would be game over. Whether they'd cross paths again was a matter left to fate. Hoping for a lead from Everett was a fool's errand. That guy was all about his girl, Dorothy, playing the lovesick puppy in front of her. Even with his big-shot role as CEO of the Lopez Corporation, he constantly worried about tripping Dorothy's temper. And reaching out to Dorothy herself? Fat chance! She'd already made her stance clear; she wasn't on board.
"You don't have to head back with me right off the bat. What do you say we grab a bite after we land? I rushed to the airport to catch you and haven't eaten a thing. I'm starving."
Jeffrey reached out, but Karen deftly sidestepped him.
"Can't do. Someone's picking me up."
"Who? A guy or a girl?" Jeffrey's alertness spiked instantly.
Karen frowned, finding him to be a real piece of work. "What's it to you?"
He grabbed her wrist, halting her packing efforts. "I'm asking you. A guy or a girl?"
"A guy, okay? Happy now?"
A guy? Some dude was picking her up!
"And who might this guy be to you?" He couldn't hide the sourness in his voice.
Karen paused, gesturing to the flight attendant who looked rather uncomfortable, "Mr. Turner, we're about to land. Can you please take your seat?"
"Sir, please return to your seat," the flight attendant added, urging him along.
With the presence of an audience, Jeffrey had no choice but to go back and sit down obediently.
Karen had just stowed her eye mask and travel pillow back into her carry-on when the plane touched down smoothly.
She had managed to get a decent amount of sleep during the ten-hour flight and felt refreshed. Her mind was already wandering to the sumptuous meal she'd enjoy with Kenneth and the two munchkins. She had to make sure Kenneth got the bill good and proper.
"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for flying with us. We have now landed at Eldorria City Airport…"
The announcement began to play overhead.

The readers' comments on the novel: The CEO's Hidden Love: Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires
Sometimes Karen can be such a drama queen and immature....
For some reason I am now feeling suspicious about Kevin's new girlfriend....
I really hope this Perdita person is not a new villain....
I too echoed the sentiments of pppplllleeeaaaassssseeeeee bring this drama to an end. I beg of you!...
Really please finish this book and upload the full story so it can end. It's been drugout for so long!...
The intimate scenes in this story or uncomfortable to read. They either come off as being forced, painful, or simply not enjoyable....
Okay I left a long while ago and came back. Looks like it's been updated but still not done lol. I'll maybe wait 6 months before coming back and it'll probably still be going on. It's like a soap opera instead of a novel...
Kenneth is confirming something I've been thinking about him for several hundred chapters ago and that is he is a future murder suicide perpetrator. And after reading chapter 1275 yeah it's just brought the thought back....
How could Jeffrey throw the knife down at the scene of the crime with both their fingerprints on there?...
Again no update, so is this where it ends? Or post the whole book. Your dragging this out...
