"Okay!"
Dorothy half expected Everett to just say a quick hello and then hang up, but his face stayed on the screen.
She propped her phone on a stand, adjusted the angle, and kept her eyes glued to the display.
Soon, Everett used his key card to enter the hotel room, and the playful sounds of Abigail and Langston followed.
"Mommy wants to FaceTime with you guys."
On the other side of the call, Everett propped his phone on a table and then stepped out of the frame.
Abigail's face squeezed into view, waving at Dorothy. "Mommy! I miss you!"
Dorothy quickly responded. "Mommy misses you too!"
"Do you miss Langston?"
"Of course! I miss both of you!"
Abigail's big eyes blinked, and she continued, "Do you miss Daddy too?"
Dorothy paused for a moment before answering, "I miss him too."
Abigail giggled. "You gotta finish your work fast, Mommy, and come pick us up!"
"Okay, dear."
Dorothy nodded, her gaze falling on Langston, who was silent.
"Langston, why aren't you talking to Mommy?"
"I feel like something's off between you and Dad."
Langston raised an eyebrow, then seemed to look up at Everett. "You guys used to be so lovey-dovey, always sneaking kisses. Why's Daddy so far away during the call now?"
"Daddy's busy with work."
Dorothy didn't want to burden the kids with the news of their parents' separation. It wasn't good for their growth.
Besides, whatever beef she had with Everett's mother, she didn't want it to spill over to Everett.
"But Daddy's just sitting there, not working."

The readers' comments on the novel: The CEO's Hidden Love: Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires
Sometimes Karen can be such a drama queen and immature....
For some reason I am now feeling suspicious about Kevin's new girlfriend....
I really hope this Perdita person is not a new villain....
I too echoed the sentiments of pppplllleeeaaaassssseeeeee bring this drama to an end. I beg of you!...
Really please finish this book and upload the full story so it can end. It's been drugout for so long!...
The intimate scenes in this story or uncomfortable to read. They either come off as being forced, painful, or simply not enjoyable....
Okay I left a long while ago and came back. Looks like it's been updated but still not done lol. I'll maybe wait 6 months before coming back and it'll probably still be going on. It's like a soap opera instead of a novel...
Kenneth is confirming something I've been thinking about him for several hundred chapters ago and that is he is a future murder suicide perpetrator. And after reading chapter 1275 yeah it's just brought the thought back....
How could Jeffrey throw the knife down at the scene of the crime with both their fingerprints on there?...
Again no update, so is this where it ends? Or post the whole book. Your dragging this out...
