It had to be said that Fredric's words really struck a chord with her.
Jelena becoming her sister-in-law was icing on the cake for her - it made her all the more powerful.
And even if she helped Sheryl out this time, there was no guarantee Sheryl would always have her back.
When Leopold walked in, she was ruffling her hair in frustration, tangling the strands.
He took her hand, "What's wrong now? You're not still fretting over Fredric and Jelena's drama, are you?"
Aurelia looked up at him, a mischievous sparkle fleeting across her gaze.
"You said you'd listen to me before. Does that still stand?" She asked.
Leopold paused, his eyes darkening a shade. "Aren't you the one who disagreed? Saying I passed the hot potato to you."
She shrugged nonchalantly, replying, "I've changed my mind."
His eyebrows arched, "Changed your mind how? Don't want to side with Sheryl anymore?"
Aurelia was almost certain Leopold had x-ray vision, seeing right through her little schemes.
"I never decided whose side I was on. What I mean is, that I've decided to handle this hot potato myself. Will you listen to me?"
Leopold didn't answer, scrutinizing her with a serious expression.
She pouted, "Fine, I knew you were just teasing, trying to cheer me up. I was a fool to take it seriously."
He gently tapped her head, "What kind of scheme are you conjuring up now?"
