When Lisbeth heard those words, a wave of relief washed over her. After her departure, Skyler made his way to the Stirling Mansion and quietly cornered Aurelia.
"Angel, Lisbeth came to see me," he confided.
"What kind of trouble is she in?" Aurelia inquired.
"She's been infected with the superbug Medusa," Skyler revealed.
That damn thing again, Aurelia thought, despising it more than ever.
"I've arranged for antibiotics to be ready at the lab. We'll have her come by to pick them up."
Three days later, Skyler called Lisbeth to his villa.
What Lisbeth didn't expect was for Aurelia to be there as well, sending a sharp spasm of panic through her.
"I didn't spill your secret to Angel, but she had already figured it out," Skyler said gently.
Lisbeth turned a shade paler and was at a loss for words. Since they had guessed everything, any denial seemed pointless. What mattered most was getting the antidote.
"Raines trusts you a lot and loves you, right?" Aurelia prodded.
Lisbeth trembled her shoulders slightly and knew what Aurelia mentioned was the real Raines.
"How did you find out?"
"No one can perfectly impersonate another," Aurelia stated. "The current Raines is the head of AK Group, Geoffrey, isn't he?"
Lisbeth shook her head. "I don't know who he is. I only know he looks exactly like Raines. My boss instructed me to collaborate with him. I've never met the boss. I'm not high-ranking enough for that."
Aurelia was stunned. Could this man be someone other than Geoffrey? Despite the AK Group's stronghold being destroyed, remnants of their power were still hidden everywhere, waiting for Geoffrey's command.
"Where is Raines?"
"I don't know. They've locked Raines and Elfreda. I want to find them too," Lisbeth said, her expression one of helplessness.
