"Could it be the boss gave orders behind your back? No way the big cheese and Leopold would be so brazen as to poison you at a dinner party, right?" asked Lisbeth.
Agent A snorted, "They've already picked their fall guy. They poison me and then claim it was meant for Leopold. I accidentally got in the way. In the Stirling family, they're top dogs. If they say so, who's gonna argue?"
Lisbeth pondered, "But Skyler said only Geoffrey has access to that poison. Geoffrey is the arch-nemesis of Leopold. Would he team up with Leopold to target you?"
Agent A rolled his eyes, "Why all the chatter? Skyler is a blockhead for sure, already in their pocket, cooking up false evidence."
"I'm just trying to piece this together so we can find an antidote to save you," Lisbeth insisted. "If it weren't Fredric and Leopold, but Geoffrey, then we gotta find a way to get that antidote from him. Otherwise, you being paralyzed is bad news."
Agent A was fuming with frustration. He was completely dependent now, a shadow of his former self.
"Skyler is crafty with poisons. It could very well be his handiwork. He must have an antidote. Go find him, and whatever it takes, get that antidote."
Lisbeth quirked an eyebrow, taunting, "Skyler is just a kid. Is he that good?"
"He may be childish and dim-witted, but he's got skills," Agent A admitted.
Lisbeth realized Agent A knew a thing or two about Skyler.
Typically, eternal Peter Pans like Skyler didn’t get much attention. If they did, they were written off as fools.
To her surprise, Agent A was well aware of Skyler's capabilities.
"Didn't he say that only Geoffrey has the antidote and he couldn't make it?"
"He's lying. Don't let his boyish looks fool you. He's a psych major, a better actor than you'd think."
