Chapter 158
“Manager Aurelia, you are really considerate, even knows Mr. Leopold’s favorite juice brand.”
Aurelia merely smiled, “It was Arno who told me.”
This simple statement carried more weight than a thousand explanations.
Evelyn paused, almost forgetting Aurelia’s relationship with Arnold.
Was she aiming to be Leo’s sister–in–law?
A cold flicker crossed Leopold’s eyes. Though he understood that she was using Arnold as a shield, he couldn’t help but feel annoyed. After all, there were some grey areas in her relationship with Arnold,
Aurelia peeled an orange and took a bite. Evelyn glanced at her, casually said, “Arnold has been quite close with Sophie, the rising star of Serenity Filrns lately, did you know?”
Aurelia had no idea. That was Arno’s personal business and had nothing to do with her.
However, she remembered Sophie, who was the lead actress in her commercial.
“Arno is a photographer. Isn’t it perfectly normal for him to be close with models or actresses?”
Evelyn was sure she was feigning calm, “Everyone in the elite circle knows Arnold changes girlfriends more often than his shirts. You better keep an eye on him.”
Aurelia laughed it off, “Men are like sand, the tighter you hold, the faster they slip away.”
She bent down and picked up a handful of sand, opened her hand, letting the sand rest in her palm, “See, if you boldly let go, the sand won’t fall.”
Leopold lounged in his chair, watching her with a hidden gaze.
Was this woman too engrossed in her act or did she genuinely consider herself Arnold’s girlfriend?
Evelyn was somewhat astonished. Was this her secret to stay relevant in Arnold’s life?
“Weren’t you known as the forever single in our company? How come you seem to have so much experience with men?”
Aurelia responded with a sarcastic smile, “I read a lot of novels and watch a lot of dramas. I have a lot of theoretical experience.”
Leopold smirked, she was indeed adept at playing hard–to–get.
But it would have no effect on him.
Because he wasn’t interested in her; he only cared about his children.
Evelyn looked at the sand on the ground, lost in thoughts. Had her sister used the same strategy to win Leo’s heart?
Just then, a pink figure appeared on the beach.
If it wasn’t Elowen, who could it be?
Leopold unconsciously furrowed his brows.
Elowen ran over, flashing a captivating smile, “Leopold, everyone seems to be having so much fun. I want to join them as well.”
Leopold remained expressionless, ignoring her.
Evelyn sneered, “Ms. Elowen, are you here to apologize to me?”
Elowen shot her a disdainful look, “Why should I apologize to you? The waitress who burnt you did it on her own accord, it has nothing to do with me.”
“After all these years, you really haven’t changed, even with all the evidence, you still deny it. Does your conscience not hurt at all when you hurt others?” Evelyn was indignant.
