Chapter 159
Aurelia had no desire to engage with her, the whole incident was far too low. Elowen had shown no consideration for her so–called “ally” and had Aurelia not made a timely exit to the bathroom, she too would
have been scalded.
Turning to face her, Elowen puffed out her cheeks, “You don’t suspect me too, do you?”
“Well, the whole thing was caught on camera, I don’t have much choice but to believe it,” Aurelia muttered.
“I did approach the waitress, but I asked her to spill red wine, not soup,” Elowen retorted, “I despised her dress, it was Megan’s dress. The one she wore at the Rose Party when Leopold proposed to her. Evelyn wore it to provoke me, and I just wanted to ruin the dress, embarrass her, deflate her arrogance.”
Aurelia watched her steadily, her expression was natural and her eyes didn’t waver, she didn’t seem to be
lying.
“The waitress isn’t a fool. Why would she spill soup when you asked her to spill wine? That’s just asking for trouble.”
Elowen puckered her lips, “I don’t know. I was clear about it, pretend to be clumsy while pouring the wine and spill it on her dress. She wouldn’t dare to make a fuss about such a trivial matter, it would just make her look petty.”
Aurelia fell silent, thinking about it, Elowen wouldn’t be foolish enough to commit an act that hurt her more than it did her adversary, so how should one interpret the waitress‘ actions?
She took a sip of her juice, suddenly recalling that day when she had stood up to go to the restroom, and Evelyn had grabbed her, as if to prevent her from leaving.
She had found it strange then.
And with so many available seats, why did Evelyn choose to sit next to her?
If it were her, she would never choose to sit next to Evelyn.
“Is it possible that after you left, someone impersonated you and gave the waitress different instructions?”
“That makes sense, it might have been the person who filmed the video,” Elowen grumbled.
Aurelia suddenly had an incredible idea. What if the person who filmed the video had informed Evelyn, so she had played along…
She stopped at that thought, peeling a slice of orange and popping it into her mouth.
After Elowen was exposed, the big boss seemed to have stopped investigating the matter.
With his cunning, he couldn’t have failed to notice something was off.
Could it be that he intended to pin the blame on Elowen?
“Let’s first find out who filmed the video. Everyone in the company knows about you and Evelyn, it’s not good for you to stay here. You should go back and clear your name, that’s what’s important now.”
Elowen bit her lip.
She didn’t want to leave, but she didn’t want to lose face either, so she left, dejected.
Watching her retreating figure, Aurelia sighed softly.
She felt sympathy for Elowen. Even though she had some malicious intentions, they were born out of her love for the big boss.
Sadly, unrequited love only hurts oneself and others.
Her team won the beach volleyball tournament.
