Chapter 167
Jolin was taken aback for a moment and cast a lingering glance at her daughter and Leopold.
She had worked in a state–owned corporation, so she was skilled at reading the between the lines. At this moment, she keenly sensed something unusual.
Taking a sip water, she chuckled and said, “As the saying goes, ‘You rely on your parents at home, and on friends when you’re out. In fact, as parents, what we hope for the most is that our daughter can marry a good man,”
Leopold’s lips curled into a subtle arc, “Rest assured, Aurelia has excellent taste. She’ll marry the best man
in the world.”
Aurelia was taken back, covering her mouth and coughing several times.
Was he complimenting himself?
Well, that flawless face was indeed priceless and needed no embellishment!
Yet, apart from being handsome, incredible wealthy, and wielding immense power, he was still far from being a perfect man.
He was short on tenderness, and his emotions are quite volatile. Around him, she need to be extra careful, worried that she might accidentally provoke his anger.
Jolin’s gaze deepened slightly, and she gently patted her daughter’s head, “When Aurelia was a child, her father and I used to take her our workplace events. She’s seen quite a few grand occasions, knows how to carry herself with dignity. She’ll definitely be a capable wife in the future.”
“I can see that. You and your husband have given her excellent guidance. And Aurelia is a smart girl. She’s never let me or the company down.”
Leopold gave a faint smile, leaving Aurelia completely stunned.
Was her boss complimenting her?
She couldn’t help but glance at the sun in the sky. It had indeed risen from the east, not the west!
“Mom, Mr. Leopold is an idol for us employees. He’s not only a brilliant leader but also very approachable and caring. People who admire Mr. Leopold are lining up from the rooftop of the Astral Enterprises Building
to the moon.”
She returned the compliment.
A trace of mockery crossed Leopold’s handsome face.
It was all fluff; and the compliments was not sincere at all.
Just then, Arnold and Avery walked over.
Avery had been unable to get into the right mindset, so Arnold suggested him take a break before continuing the shoot.
Upon seeing Leopold, Avery instinctively furrowed his brow, “Why are you here, Leopold? Are you interested in shooting ads?”
“Mr. Leopold is heading to the golf club nearby. He’s just passing by,” Aurelia quickly explained.
A sharp, indescribable look passed through Arnold’s eyes. He smiled faintly, “Leopold, why are you going alone? Didn’t you arrange to meet someone over there?”
“I have a couple of shareholders waiting,” Leopold said indifferently, his gaze concealing a hint of coldness.
Arnold sat down and took a sip of water, “When we were kids, our father used to take the four of us to play golf. After his passing, we never got a chance to together for a game. When we have some free time, let’s arrange a game with our older brothers.”
Leopold narrowed his eyes slightly, a hint of ice in his gaze, “Next week, on the anniversary of father’s death, everyone will be present. Why don’t we arrange it for that day? It would bring a smile to his face up in heaven.”
He spoke nonchalantly, his tone as light as a breeze.
