Chapter 303
The following day, just before leaving, Aurelia video called her mother.
These past few days, Jolin had been filled with anxiety, fearing that something might happen to her daughter.
“Aurelia, are you okay over there?”
“I’m fine, Mom. Don’t worry.” Aurelia forced a smile onto her tense face, trying to reassure her mother.
“Have you found Liam yet?” Jolin asked.
“Not yet. Arnold is helping me,” Aurelia replied.
Jolin brought over her grandson, “Kane, look, Mommy’s calling.”
Kane, a cute little bundle of joy, stared at the screen with wide eyes and a big smile.
He reached out his tiny hands, babbling as if trying to communicate with his mother. Aurelia’s heart contracted, her eyes welling up with tears, “Kane, Mommy misses you so much! Be a good boy, listen to your grandma, and Mommy will be back soon with Liam.”
“Ma…ma…ba!” Kane waved his tiny hands in the air.
Jolin exclaimed in surprise, “Aurelia, did you hear that? He just called you ‘Mama‘!”
Aurelia nodded, tears rolling down her cheeks. She had heard it. Her little Kane had called for his mother!
Liam must be waiting for his mother to save him too!
“Kane, remember, Mommy loves you so much!”
She choked back a sob, turned her gaze to Jolin, “Mom, please take care of yourself while I’m not around. Don’t work too hard.”
Jolin replied, “Don’t worry about me. Your safety is the most important.”
Aurelia wiped away her tears, forced a small smile, “I’ll be back soon. Bye for now, I’ll call you when I have time.”
After hanging up, she took a deep breath and stood up.
It was getting late. Time to go.
Fawkes Amusement Park was deathly quiet at midnight, like a graveyard.
The night wind howled, sounding like the ghostly wails of spirits.
Aurelia sent a message: [I’m here.]

She quickly received a reply: [Come to the maze. Only two can enter.]
[Where is my child?]
[Reach the end of the maze and you’ll find him.]
Arnold asked his bodyguards to wait outside the maze, ready to step in at the first sign of danger.
The maze was outdoors and quite large.
Due to lack of care, it was overgrown with green vines, giving it an eerie and terrifying appearance.
“Follow me!” Arnold held a gun, scanning their surroundings with vigilance. He had studied the maze map beforehand and knew the way to the end.
Aurelia followed him, clutching the corner of his jacket.
A gust of wind brought the faint sound of a baby’s cry.
Aurelia’s heart skipped a beat, “Is that Liam? Is Liam crying?”
Arnold quickly said, “Don’t panic, it might not be him. Could be a recording to fool us.”
Aurelia bit her lip, forcing herself to remain calm, but her heart raced uncontrollably, matching the rhythm of the baby’s cries.
