Jelena gave her a thumbs up. “There is my girl, who dares to love and hate with a heart so brave and true. There are plenty of fish in the sea, darling. Leopold Stirling? Screw that loser I bet he’ll regret losing you when you find true love.” 

Aurelia scoffed. “I won’t look back. Even if he were the last man on earth, I wouldn’t get back together with him.” 

“That’s the spirit!” a voice chimed in. It was Elvis. 

“Being single isn’t a bad thing. The end of one love could be the start of a new one.” He was wearing a charming smile on his handsome face. 

Aurelia gave a noncommittal grin. She wanted to live freely, unattached, not ready to start 

anew. 

She thought, “Fate happens when it happens. And when it’s time to move on, why brood over the past?” 

As it turned out, Leopold wasn’t even her choice. It was fate’s doing. 

It seems like fate doesn’t always pick the right ones. From then on, she would decide by herself. 

“Being single can be free. You’re free from the constraints of a relationship,” Elvis said, sitting across from her on the plush couch. “May I ask a personal question?” 

“What is it?” Aurelia asked, arching an eyebrow. 

Elvis lowered his voice. “Would you consider going back to Arnold?” 

Aurelia’s lips curled into a sly grin. “I won’t even think about it until Arnold is divorced. Even if I date again, I want a simple relationship, not one tangled up with others.” 

Elvis laughed, a subtle, intriguing laugh. He was relieved then. 

“I prefer simple relationships, too. I don’t want troubles.” 

Aurelia sighed. “You rich playboys are always surrounded by women. How can you have a simple relationship? If Leopold was an ordinary guy, we’d probably still be together, living a simple life.” 

Elvis swirled his whiskey in his hand., “Not all of us are hung up on the past.” 

He had never truly loved any woman. It was always just for show, and only Aurelia had stirred his affectionate gaze. 

Jelena wrapped her arm around Aurelia’s shoulder. “Enough about Leopold. Forget him and Megan. A jerk and a bitch deserve each other. You’ll marry a man who truly loves you.”
