Arriving at the amusement park, William dashed over to the claw machine with a burst of enthusiasm. 

He was fond of this game, often spending hours with Arnold. 

Aurelia joined in the fun while Kane and Leopold settled on the nearby vacant bench. 

Compared to William’s spirited nature, Kane was much more reserved. 

Leopold handed him a juice box, asking casually, “Have you seen what William looks. like?” 

Despite the disinterested tone, Kane grew alert. He was a perceptive boy. 

“I have.” He nodded cautiously. 

“Do you think he looks like you?” Leopold continued. 

Kane immediately shook his head, “No.” 

“Really?” Leopold raised his eyebrows slightly. When they were both wearing masks, they did look strikingly similar. 

“Does he look like Aurelia or Arnold?” 

The question deepened Kane’s suspicion. Was Leopold suspecting something? 

He hurried to say, “Like Arnold.” 

He was unwilling to lie to Leopold, but he’d promised William. He had to uphold his promise, even if it meant disappointing Leopold. 

Leopold didn’t probe further. The confusion in his eyes gradually faded. Children’s features weren’t fully developed, and resemblance could be just an illusion, especially when they were masked. 

At this moment, William clutched a small bunny from the claw machine, dancing with joy, “Kane, come over. You should try it.” 

Kane moved over to the third claw machine which had just been abandoned by two people who left empty–handed, disappointed. 

After Aurelia paid, the claw started swinging. Kane tapped it lightly, and the claw dropped precisely, grabbing a teddy bear and tossing it into the chute. 

“Wow, amazing, you’re as good as me.” William gave him a thumbs–up. 

Kane was playing this game for the first time, but he’d been observing other players and found the trick behind it.

William’s game was all about skill, while his game was about probability. 

“The odds of this claw machine are set at 20:1. For every twenty attempts, there’s one chance of success. When we arrived, someone had just got a small toy. Then two more people played, one eight times and the other twelve. It was my turn on the twenty–first go, so I was bound to win.” 

William clapped him on the shoulder, “My dad taught me a technique to beat these odds. You can win within five tries. I’ll teach you later.” 

The girls nearby watched them with awe, feeling the pressure of their intelligence. 

They excitedly ran to the claw machine Kane had used, testing his probability theory. 

One girl grinned at William, “Little boy, is your technique really that good? I really like that Monchhichi, so can you help me get it?” 

“Sure.” William agreed readily and moved to the front of the machine. 

The other girls also gathered curiously to watch. 

The claw swung wildly. After two swings, the Monchhichi was tossed next to the chute.
