Chapter 52
Her lips curved into a smile, her dimples dancing joyfully on her cheeks.
Leopold choked, his internal injuries intensifying, making him feel like he was about to spit blood.
Her smile felt like a myriad of silver needles, plercing through his eyes, causing a sharp pain.
He walked to the refrigerator, grabbed a bottle of iced mineral water, took a few sips to cool himself down before he said coldly, I’ve arranged a flight for you. You’re going to Switzerland. You’ll stay there until the baby is born.”
What?
His words exploded like a bolt from the blue in Aurelia’s mind, shattering her smile into tiny fragments that disappeared from her lips.
He was planning to imprison her abroad!
“I’m not going,” she exclaimed. “I’m not your mistress. Our relationship is contractual. You have no right to make decisions for me.”
Her voice was getting louder and louder as she spoke.
Her career was just taking off.
She had been diligent, hardworking, and patient. Finally, her talents as a jewelry designer named Aurelia were becoming recognized.
She couldn’t be sent to Switzerland to have a baby. She needed to seize this opportunity and design better pieces, or she would quickly be forgotten.
A cold light flashed in Leopold’s eyes. “That’s not up to you!”
Sending her to Switzerland was the safest decision for their child. Additionally, he wanted to sever all her ties with Arnold.
Aurelia clenched her fists, her heart pounding, and her shoulders shaking.
Suddenly, she understood that the Paris jewelry exhibition wasn’t to help her gain recognition. It was a trick. to get her out of the country to imprison her.
To him, she was just a tool to carry his child. Her efforts were worthless to him, her life insignificant.
“I don’t want your money, not a penny. I want my freedom. I want a divorce. I want to end our contract!”
Leopold frowned, veins throbbing on his forehead. His fist clenched so hard blood started to seep out.
Was it because she had found someone else? Was she eager to be in Arnold’s arms, watching sunsets together?
He turned abruptly, pushing her onto the couch, “You have no choice or freedom before this child is born! Either you get on that plane willingly, or I will force you!”
Aurelia was livid. Her dignity was being ground to dust beneath his heel, but she wouldn’t let him ruin her future, her life.
“Bastard!”
She kicked him hard in the shin, her fists raining down on his shoulders.
