Chapter 620
Megan was convinced that Aurelia had cursed her with some dark magic.
Her mother, Callie, couldn't believe her daughter would suddenly develop sleepwalking. She had consulted with several mediums, seeking a spell to break the supposed curse.
Taking matters into her own hands, Callie stormed into the Astral Enterprises building to confront Aurelia.
Aurelia couldn't help but chuckle, "Callie, the doctor has confirmed Megan has sleepwalking. Don't you believe in science, or do you prefer these wild superstitions?"
Callie snorted dismissively, "Megan would never have sleepwalking. It must be you, envious of her, casting spells to harm her.
Shrugging nonchalantly, Aurelia sipped her coffee, "If smearing my name makes you feel better about her sleepwalking, then suit yourself. I couldn't care less."
Callie threatened, “The Alcotts aren't pushovers. We won't stand by while you harm Megan."
Aurelia stirred her coffee casually, “Did Megan ever tell you that she disappeared for six years because she joined a dark society known as the AK Group?"
Callie was visibly shaken, "Don't spout nonsense. Megan would never do such a thing."
“That's what she confessed,’ Aurelia continued calmly, “She claimed that the AK Group cursed her the first time she sleepwalked. Mr. Leopold even assigned bodyguards for her safety. I don't know why she's suddenly pointing the finger at me. Maybe the AK Group is behind it?"
A tumultuous wave of emotion swept over Callie. The thought of Megan joining such a terrifying group was unfathomable.
While Callie was still reeling, Aurelia added, "Mr. Leopold has been advising her to leave the AK Group, to come back to the light. If the police get evidence, it'll be too late for her to turn back."
Taking a deep breath, Callie tried to stay composed, “That's impossible. I don't believe it. Megan wouldn't do that."
"How would you know?" Aurelia cut in, "You haven't seen her in six years. She could have done anything, become anyone. It's never too late to turn back."
Callie's face turned ashen. Among her two daughters, Megan had always been her favorite. She could never have strayed so far from the right path.
