Chapter 631
Aurelia tried to soothe the situation, insisting that Arnold should give Lisa a chance rather than do something he might regret. But for Arnold, Lisa was just one of many. Women like her, fawning over him, were a dime a dozen in his world.
"Lisa's thinking of moving to Elysium so I can see our child more often. I agreed to it," he said.
Aurelia whispered, "That's good. Kids need both parents. They can’t grow up missing out on either motherly or fatherly love."
Arnold looked at her intensely before blurting out, "Would you give the same advice to Leopold?"
"What?" She was taken aback.
"Tell him not to divorce. Megan's pregnant too, Arnold said, his eyes sharp.
She fell silent, lifting her gaze to meet his, her eyes carrying a straightforward honesty.
"No, I wouldn't. Megan's not like Lisa, because Lisa only wants you, but Megan's ambitions reach far beyond that. She's after the Stirling family legacy. She'll hurt Kane, and I can't give her that chance"
Arnold understood her concerns. Kane's heritage made him a target.
“If Leopold goes through with the divorce, would you marry him again for Kane's sake?"
Aurelia pursed her lips, unwilling to lie to him. He was her confidant, her most important family member.
Knowing her choice would help him make the best decision for himself.
"Probably. Who else but me is going to protect my Kane?"
Even though he had anticipated her response, it still pained Arnold. “Aurelia, I've always said whatever choice you make, I'll stand by you, no broken promises. I'll help you protect Kane."
And if Leopold let her down, Arnold wouldn't hesitate to make her his wife, ensuring she'd never have a reason to regret it.
Moreover, he knew he held a place in her heart Leopold could never touch. Her trust in him far outweighed any she had in Leopold.
The third scene of the morning called for a kiss. Avery didn't do kiss scenes, and he had a stand-in for that.
