Chapter 637
Aurelia thought that when she was old and ugly, it was a wonder he didn't want to replace her with a younger, prettier one.
Men of the gentry were never short of beautiful young women around them.
Even if he were eighty, there would still be twenty-year-olds lining up to be his arm candy.
Money talks.
And for a man like him, who was so devilishly handsome, he would still be the epitome of charm and elegance even at the ripe age of eighty.
“Leopold, you're a married man. Until you're officially divorced, stop trying to butter me up like I'm your mistress.
I'm not horny, and I won't lower myself to be some married man's mistress."
Leopold cupped her face with an earnestness that couldn't be more sincere, "I said I'd come back for you, and I will"
Aurelia didn't trust him. The likelihood of Megan agreeing to a divorce was slim to none.
She had clawed her way to the title of Mrs. Stirling and she'd cling to that status with her dying breath.
So far, there were no signs of him wanting a divorce. Arnold seemed more eager for it than he did.
“I need to check on something with Arnold. If you don't need anything else, please go back to your room."
Leopold's brow furrowed. Every time Arnold came back into town, she began to ignore Leopold totally. He was about to stop her when William burst in, “Mommy, Daddy got us a bunch of presents. Come and see."
Saying so, William grabbed Aurelia's hand and led her away.
Leopold was left feeling like an extra, unable to surpass Arnold's place in Aurelia’s heart, no matter what he did.
Aurelia entered Arnold's room and was instantly captivated by the array of local folk art he had brought back.
