Leopold laughed, dripping with scorn. “How could a three-year-old lie to you? You're gloomy and always plotting something."

Lana chimed in, “Speaking so cruelly of a child shows how unkind you are. Honey, you better watch out. Who knows what wickedness she's capable of?” Her affectionate, syrupy call of ‘honey’ could melt even the coldest of hearts.

Megan was stunned, her rage boiling over, wishing she could choke the life out of her.
