"Because I'm not in the mood today," he grumbled, his handsome brows knitting together in frustration, the corners of his charming mouth turned downward, and an unmistakable scowl etched across his face. She quickly tried to lighten the mood, her voice playful and teasing. "I found Beverley'd been giving you the side-eye all day. She probably thinks you're my toy boy or something."

Leopold choked back a retort and got pissed at the mention of that little troublemaker. If Beverley kept this up, he might just cut her allowance and see how she liked that!

"And here I was, thinking you and Elvis were thick as thieves," he shot back.
