Tanya's pale face twitched. "How did you find this place?"
The base had a signal jammer, and no one could have tracked it down.
She didn't know Leopold had hacked her phone and installed a state-of-the-art micro tracker that even the signal jammer could not block.
Hanson looked at her with disappointment on his face. "You've schemed and plotted, creating this shadowy organization to take down your sister and nephew? Have you lost your mind?"
Tanya clenched her molars. "Jessica never treated me like a sister. I was supposed to marry into the Stirling family, but she stole the man who was rightfully mine. She wouldn’t let me be with my Chad and kicked me out of Elysium when I was pregnant. She’s heartless, so don’t blame me for being ruthless."
Hanson replied, "Blame the Stirling family elders for not approving of you. They decided to kick you out of Elysium, not Jessica. Frankly, I think they were spot on. They saw how extreme and twisted your personality was and refused to accept you."
Her face turned from pale to flushed with anger. "You seem to have chosen Jessica's side and want to be my enemy. Well, don’t expect any mercy from me."
She abruptly pulled a gun from her pocket, aiming to shoot Hanson, but a gunshot rang out from behind Hanson, striking Tanya in the shoulder. She grunted, and the gun fell from her grasp.
Her assistant drew his gun from behind, trying to aid her, only to be shot in the shoulder as well.
As the assistant turned to flee, another bullet hit his leg, and he collapsed to the ground with a wail.
Tanya's gaze, blazing with a fierce flame of hatred and rage, was firmly fixed on the man standing behind Hanson.
"Leopold, you've recovered so quickly?"
Leopold sneered. "I was never poisoned. What's there to recover from?"
