Chapter 529 Acting Like A Bolster
“Lysander.” Josiah inquired, “Will Nieva agree if I proposed to become the godfather of her baby?”
Lysander replied, “I don’t know what kind of relationship you have with Ms. Lionhart.”
“We don’t meet each other often, but we’ve been aware of each other’s existence since childhood. Our relationship is quite decent.
“Then why not wait for Ms. Lionhart to return and ask her?” Lysander suggested, “However, while the biological father’s presence or absence may seem inconsequential, it’s unalterable in terms of blood relation and legalese.”
Josiah resignedly said, “I know.”
“Or are you saying you want to be Aurora’s stepdad?”
Josiah immediately furrowed his brows in retort, “What are you talking about?”
The musical wind chimes were still cheerfully playing nursery rhymes.
After listening carefully for a while, Lysander finally realized why Aurora was saying “Daddy,” or at least an approximation of it.
The wind chime had been softly singing, “Daddy’s dad is called Grandpa, Daddy’s mom is called. Grandma…”
Josiah had also heard it, though his complexion still held á hint of confusion.
Aurora was still learning how to pronounce the word, and she was getting better at it. “Daddy… Daddy…”
That time, it was no longer ambiguous. She was very clearly saying “Daddy.”
Josiah leaned over, gently tapping her soft little face with his finger, and lightly chuckled. “Perhaps you should call ‘Mommy first. Because your biological father might not be too thrilled if he heard you calling him Daddy.”
Lysander let out a long sigh.
The future of Nieva’s and Elio’s marriage
s uncertain. They might continue as a married couple, strangers in all but name, or perhaps Elio, unable to bear the piercing words any longer, would decide to
divorce Nieva.
Regardless of the circumstances, it was inevitable that Aurora’s childhood would be marked by the absence of a father’s love.
It seemed as though Josiah had also considered that point. He softly said, “Your initial worries were justified.”
Lysander remained silent.
Yet, both of them understood.
How could such an innocent and adorable child, once she grew up and understood the world better,

Elio was powerful and influential already, so there was no guarantee that other women and children wouldn’t appear in his life in the future.
How should Aurora face those women and her half–siblings when the time comes?
Just the mere thought of it left Josiah feeling breathless.
He looked toward Lysander, who was carefully sorting out Aurora’s clothes,
She carefully folded the tiny clothes, still carrying the faint scent of milk, and set them aside.
Although she rarely showed it, everyone knew that she was the one who suffered the most.
By the time Josiah managed to detach his thoughts from the past, Aurora had lost interest in the wind chime. She started to reach out her little arms, indicating she wanted to be held.
Josiah took out a fluffy little bird toy from the bag he had brought in. He held it in his hand and wound it
Chirp! Chirp!
Aurora twisted around in Lysander’s arms, starting to look at the bird with curiosity.
Lysander had not seen that toy before. “Is this also something Ms. Lionhart left behind?”
“I bought this.” Josiah walked over, using a noise–making toy to catch Aurora’s attention, and then he reached out his hand. “Just leave Aurora to me and do whatever you want to do. Just remember what the doctor said. Balance work and rest”
Lysander hesitated. “When did you buy this?”
“Last night.”
“Weren’t you at the hotel all of last night? Did you leave yesterday?”
“No,” said Josiah. “I don’t feel safe leaving you and Aurora here alone.”
“Where did you purchase it from, then?”
“Over by the children’s playground,” Josiah licked his lips, appearing somewhat stiff. “I bought it from a kid.”
Lysander was taken aback.
“I also bought the lollipop I gave you from him.”
Lysander was utterly speechless. “How much money did you give him?”
“I didn’t have any cash on me, but it seemed like the kid wasn’t too interested in money. So, I gave him my collar button instead.”
The collar buttons on Josiah’s attire were worth tens of thousands.
Thus, Lysander thought that perhaps it wouldn’t really count as deceiving a child.

Josiah continued, “However, while we were dining at the restaurant today, I think I saw him drop the button into the outdoor drainage ditch.”
Lysander didn’t know what to say.
-I had already instructed the front desk that if they saw the child’s mother, they would reimburse her with
some money.
Lysander asked, “How much money did you ask the reception to give to the mother?”
Ten thousand, and all their expenses at the hotel these past few days are covered.”
No words parted from Lysander’s slips.
Seeing Lysander remained silent, Josiah immediately grew anxious. “Should I ask the front desk to give
more?”
Lysander shook her head. “It’s fine.”
“All right.”
“I haven’t had the time to look at the information Aiden sent over. I’ll go do that now.”
A moment of desolation flashed in Josiah’s eyes, but he still nodded. “All right.”
Lysander gently pinched Aurora’s tiny hand, softly telling her, “Be a good girl. I will come back to play with you in a bit”
Initially, there wasn’t much happening. However, for some reason, it seemed as though Aurora suddenly understood Lysander’s words. The baby started to pout as if she was about to cry.
Taking advantage of the situation, Josiah gently grasped Lysander’s hand. “Aurora can’t be without you.”
Lysander pulled away from his grasp. “I have work to do, too. I’ve been back from Apex City for quite some time now, and I haven’t even glanced at those documents yet.”

Update pls~...
Why no update ???...
Chapters 692 693 ans 694 are impossible to read. Not sure if there was an issue with translation.but the words do not make sense..impossible to follow story line...
I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
