Chapter 532 Care About You
Josiah had gotten himself injured, leaving Lysander with no other choice but to place the child into the baby stroller first.
Josiah pulled out a tissue, wiping away the blood from his wound as he attempted to clarify the situation. “Mr. Thorne, Lysander and I are actually-”
“Don’t talk to me!” Maverick retorted, pushing him away with a swift movement, afraid he might approach Lysander again.
Josiah was pushed, stumbling, his back slamming hard against the wall.
Lysander sighed, turning back to glance at the child. She tenderly held the baby’s tiny hand and said, “Be a good kid. Your mommy will be back soon. I have to leave now.”
It seemed as though the baby sensed something. Her large eyes suddenly fixed on Lysander, and she was no longer smiling.
“Let’s go, Lysa.” Maverick forcefully led Lysander away.
Josiah was too preoccupied to care about anything else. He quickly followed the duo out.
Maverick was already in a huff when he arrived, and when he was joined by Lysander, they both quickly made their way to the elevator. They rushed in and swiftly pressed the close–door button. By the time Josiah arrived, it was too late. The elevator doors had already closed, and the elevator was descending.
Josiah made a beeline for the fire escape, but no sooner had he turned the corner of the corridor than Tiffany and Dillon appeared out of nowhere.
Startled by his appearance, Tiffany managed to cover her mouth just in time to stifle a scream.
Dillon also wore a surprised expression. “Mr. Guerra, what happened?”
“Move aside,” Josiah demanded.
Tiffany rushed over, grabbing his arm. She tiptoed to get a closer look at the wound on his head, concern. etched on her face. “Jose, you’re hurt. Did something happen?”
Josiah quickly dodged her hand. “Stay away from me!”
“Jose, let me take a look at your injury…”
Not far off, Maverick was already leading Lysander to the entrance.
Hearing the commotion behind him and spotting Tiffany, Maverick let out a sarcastic chuckle. “Josiah, you sure know how to replace people quickly.”
Visibly upset, Josiah tore himself away from Tiffany and quickly dashed toward Maverick. “It’s not what you think, Mr. Thorne. Let me explain-
“What’s there to explain? The young lady is being so intimate with you! It’s so obvious!” Maverick roared.
Josiah only felt a breath lodged in his chest.

Sure enough, Tiffany had followed him, shielding him like a mother hen. She glared at Maverick, her eyes filled with anger. “Was it you who hurt Jose? I’ll call the police on you!”
“Go ahead! Josiah knows where I live. Let him bring the police to arrest me!” Maverick took Lysander’s hand, and they quickly left, swiftly exiting the hotel’s grand entrance.
Outside, a taxi was waiting, presumably the one Maverick had arrived in. Soon, Maverick had already ushered Lysander in.
Josiah was burning with anxiety.
“Jose, what’s with that person? Also, why is he with Lysa? What is he to her? I can’t believe Lysa would stay with someone so violent. She didn’t even say anything when he beat you up like this. You used to take such good care of her, but she doesn’t seem to care about you at all-”
“Shut up! Josiah angrily shouted, causing Tiffany to jolt in fear, instantly silencing her.
Meanwhile, Lysander was stuffed into the car by her father, who sternly ordered her not to move.
This time, Maverick was genuinely furious.
Maverick helped her load the luggage into the trunk, his indignation palpable as he said, “Josiah is relentless. He treated you poorly in the past, and he still wants to deceive you. I think he’s a cheater, and he can’t make up his mind! You should absolutely have nothing to do with such a man anymore!”
Lysander helplessly consoled him by saying, “Dad, please calm down first.”
Maverick’s frustration only escalated. “And you, how could you be in the same room with him? If I hadn’t rushed over, who knows what could have happened next?”
It seemed like it would take a while for him to calm down.
Changing the subject, Lysander asked, “By the way, Dad, how did you know I was here?”
She had always kept this matter a secret from her family, fearing it might spark unnecessary conflicts.
Maverick was visibly upset when the topic was brought up, speaking heatedly about the events that had transpired.
“Yesterday, your mother and I took turns looking after Michelle in the hospital. It was all going smoothly until Josiah’s mistress had the audacity to show up. I was so furious, and I wanted to kick her out right then and there. But she had the nerve to stand in the ward, spouting nonsense in front of Michelle!”
“Lysanne? How could she have known about Michelle’s car accident?” Lysander hadn’t anticipated that Lysanne would be involved in this matter, her heart pounding with alarm.
Maverick held a deep prejudice against Josiah. “She must have heard it from that b*stard! It infuriates me to even mention it. If Josiah already has women around him, more than one at that, why won’t he leave. you alone?”
Lysander didn’t think Josiah would pay any more attention to Lysanne, but in front of Maverick, she simply asked, “Dad, what did she say? Anger is bad for your health. Please take care of yourself.”
With a deep sigh, Maverick began to speak, his face still wearing a troubled expression.

Update pls~...
Why no update ???...
Chapters 692 693 ans 694 are impossible to read. Not sure if there was an issue with translation.but the words do not make sense..impossible to follow story line...
I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
