The Charming Ex–Wife
Chapter 605 A Brush Of Fingertips.
Finished
It had been quite some time since the dining hall in the Thorne manor had accommodated such a large crowd. Today, the place had been spruced up in accordance with the standards befitting esteemed guests to welcome Maverick and his family. Even the tableware used was the porcelain collection of Howard.
Naturally, the five elders were seated together. Lysander had been continuously taking care of Michelle, so naturally, the two sisters were seated together.
Josiah was quite aware of the situation, so he settled down beside his mother.
Upon witnessing this scene, Susan could clearly understand her son’s intention. Yet, all she could do wast let out a soft sigh.
Now he regrets his past behavior
The dishes were served swiftly, their vibrant colors, enticing aroma, and delicious flavors were a given. The ingredients were notably nourishing, clearly tailored for the two individuals who had just been discharged from the hospital.
Apart from fruit juice, Howard had also brought out a special collection of red wine. Laura didn’t drink, so he personally poured a glass for Maverick. Afterward, he toasted and took the first sip himself.
For someone who didn’t usually drink, this gesture was undoubtedly significant.
“Maverick, Laura, Lysa’s success today is all thanks to your nurturing. I regret that I haven’t done much for her in the past, and now I’m even pulling her down with the company issues. I am truly sorry. However, the fact that our families could be discharged from the hospital together seems like a stroke of fate. Therefore, despite feeling a bit thick–skinned, I’d like to revisit the old topic.”
Molly’s recovery was going well. Apart from speaking a little softer, she looked no different from anyone else. Therefore, she also took the opportunity to express her stance with her husband towards Maverick
and Laura.
“I was unable to attend the last conversation due to health reasons, but I’m aware of the details. What Maverick said was reasonable; we truly owe Lysa a lot, so everything she deserves is right here. As for the concerns you have, it will never happen again.”
She and her husband had prepared the property notarization documents in advance. They presented these documents at that moment, solely to assure Maverick that he could let them acknowledge Lysander.
Lysander assumed that their conversation was about the Thorne family’s wealth. Therefore, she didn’t think much about it since she didn’t really care.
Only Josiah thought of Lysanne, who was already in the orphanage across the vast ocean.
She would atone for her own actions for thirty years.
Perhaps it was due to his mental preparation, but Maverick’s reaction this time was much calmer than the last time at the café. He didn’t quit
understand what the documents were about, but he maintained his composure and directly drank the wine that Howard had poured for him.
“I’m a simple man, and I don’t understand these formalities. I have just one condition this time. You must treat with kindness, and not allow anyone to bully her–not even yourselves. Otherwise, we would rather Tanna immadistalu ikan nomen to har cuffarine

Howard and Molly exchanged a glance, they almost shed tears of joy right there and then. Then, they quickly promised, “Don’t worry, we can’t compensate Lysa enough as it is, let alone allow her to suffer any injustices. From now on, our two families will become one.”
Maverick reiterated his point, “Ultimately, the decision should be left to her. I can only express my stance. It doesn’t matter what happens to me as long as she’s happy.”
Lysander was touched upon hearing this and gently reminded, “Dad, you should drink less. It’s bad for your health.”
For reasons unknown, Maverick found his eyes welling up with tears as he heard this very ordinary statement. “Don’t worry, I’ll definitely watch it. Today is a celebration of family members from both sides. being discharged, and I’m just overjoyed,” he said..
As he spoke, he lifted his hand to wipe his face, only then was he able to steady his emotions.
Lysander noticed that his was not genuinely happy, but she didn’t say anything. She suggested they switch to grape juice only after he and Howard had each drunk half a glass of red wine.
Lysander had forgotten about Josiah momentarily, and became the only person drinking at the table. Left with no choice, he had to fend for himself.
Lysander had gone around serving grape juice to the elders, not forgetting to pour some for Michelle who was beside her. Initially, she intended to offer a glass to Josiah out of courtesy as well, but as she reached. out for the juice, her fingertips brushed against his hand that he had extended.
In a flash, all eyes at the dinner table turned to look at them.
Lysander immediately pulled back her hand as if she had been shocked by electricity.
Josiah’s movement faltered for a moment, leaving him under the scrutiny of everyone’s eyes. He could feel a slight flush creeping up his cheeks. After a brief pause, he slowly reached for the juice.
Maverick watched the scene unfold, but did not reprimand Josiah which was out of his character. Instead, he lowered his eyes as if lost in thought.
The atmosphere that was lively just a moment ago suddenly became awkward.
Regardless of how much the relationship between the two families had thawed, it had nothing to do with Josiah. At most, Howard would speak a few words on his behalf.
In order to secure his seat here, Josiah feigned complete oblivion, and powered through any discomfort.
Breaking the silence, Susan asked, “Lysander, what do you think of my cooking skills? The soup tastes alright, doesn’t it? I learned how to make it from Eleanor. It took me quite a few days to get it right.”
“Thank you, Madam Susan, the soup tastes really good,” Lysander casually continued the conversation.
The conversation then shifted towards the dishes.
Howard spoke with a hint of nostalgia. “These dishes were all your favorites when you were a child. You never liked the skin on tomatoes, so the first step was always to peel them whenever we cooked anything that required tomatoes at home. As time went by, it gradually became a habit.

Update pls~...
Why no update ???...
Chapters 692 693 ans 694 are impossible to read. Not sure if there was an issue with translation.but the words do not make sense..impossible to follow story line...
I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
