The Cherished Wife (Noelle and Charles) novel Chapter 836

"What do you mean by that?" Maxwell frowned deeply.

Charles remained composed. "It's nothing complicated. It's just that I've been your grandson for more than 30 years, yet you still don't understand what I want. Whether or not she's Kelly doesn't matter. What matters is that she's mine. There's no comparison between them. Kelly has never measured up to her."

"Y-You're deliberately trying to anger me, aren't you?" Maxwell's expression darkened with rage.

"What's so special about that woman? All she has is a face identical to Kelly's. You can have any woman you want. Plenty of daughters from respected families are a perfect match for you. Noelle's family… She's not worthy of you at all."

"You're right about being unworthy. I'm the one unworthy of her," Charles interrupted calmly.

"You…" Maxwell's anger rose further, and he was unable to find the words to say.

"Is this the only reason you summoned me here today? To have dug into Nelly's background so quickly, it seems you're very concerned. Since you've already discovered her family history, you must also know by now that there's no way I'm leaving her." Charles narrowed his eyes slightly.

He stood, slipping one hand into his pocket as a faint smirk formed on his lips. "She's my wife."

"What did you say?" Maxwell sprang to his feet, staring at Charles in disbelief. "You… You married her?"

Maxwell's investigation into Noelle was thorough, driven by her uncanny resemblance to Kelly. He once adored Kelly but turned against her after learning she betrayed Charles.
