Ronan whispered into Cordelia's ear, "Could you swing by the mall across the street and grab me some pants?"
Cordelia nodded, "Sure thing."
His pants were indeed wet, making him feel a bit awkward.
"What type do you need?" Cordelia asked.
"Just something wearable. Pay with the card." Ronan replied.
Cordelia nodded again, stood up, apologized to everyone, and then left the room. Jamie's gaze followed her out. Ronan watched all this without showing any emotion.
"Adrian, if you ever run into trouble, you can count on me," Ronan said to Adrian.
"Ronan, we're gonna be family. I'm gonna down this one, even though I'm engaged, the wedding's still a ways off. The engagement already cost an arm and a leg, and the wedding won't be cheap either." Adrian started to brazenly ask for money, and he seemed a bit drunk, "Also, I'm thinking about starting my own company. Could you maybe invest a bit?"
The room fell silent, Jamie tried to reel Adrian in, but Adrian insisted on asking Ronan for money.
Cordelia walked into the room with a shopping bag. "Got 'em," she gently patted Ronan's shoulder from behind.
"Quiet! I'm discussing something with Ronan." Adrian told Cordelia.
"Adrian!" Although Cordelia didn't hear what Adrian just said, she could guess what he was saying.
"Quiet, Cordelia, you just need to focus on making money." Adrian probably had one too many, he even started to call Cordelia a "money machine".
"Adrian!" Cordelia's face turned bright red. She felt her dignity was being trampled on.
Adrian pointed at Cordelia, "Don't raise your voice at me! Samantha told me you're not Mom's biological child, what right do you have to yell at me? And don't scare the baby in your sister-in-law's belly."
"How much do you want?" Ronan asked, smiling, but his gazes were as cold as ice.
However, Adrian only saw his smile. Adrian stretched out his hand, "This much."
Cordelia thought to herself, Adrian had lost his marbles. He was asking for five million!
"You're out of your mind!" Cordelia scolded Adrian sternly.
Adrian pushed Cordelia away, almost knocking her down, "Move." Adrian was clearly drunk; he even forgot how he got to where he was today. His attitude towards Cordelia became very rough.
"Alright, I'll give it to you when you get married," Ronan said.
"Ronan, you're a real pal! It's a deal." Adrian, drunk as a skunk, gave Ronan a hearty pat on the shoulder.
Ronan lightly brushed off his shoulder.
After Adrian pushed Cordelia away, Ronan kept his eyes on him. Adrian started to shiver immediately. Ronan didn't say a word, but Adrian already felt a chill, barely holding onto his glass.
