After Samantha left, Cordelia suddenly felt weak all over.
The mop in her hand dropped to the floor, and she collapsed.
Turns out, Adrian's mess really was Ronan's doing.
If he hadn't messed with Adrian, then Adrian wouldn't have had to look for a new place to live. Shelley wouldn't have had to go house hunting, and she wouldn't have lost her life for nothing.
Even though Adrian had it coming, Ronan was definitely out to get him.
From the get-go, Cordelia felt something was off. She was uneasy because there were signs.
Adrian was the son of Ronan’s lifesaver.
Why would he treat Adrian like this now, when he had given him the house and money in the first place?
Sure, he might have given Adrian the money reluctantly because Deanna was there, but what about the house?
Maybe he didn't want to pay for Adrian anymore.
Or, because Adrian was a bit disrespectful to him on their engagement day, but was that necessary?
Cordelia started crying.
She knew that going to the police now would be pointless. After all, Ronan had a solid background. He would never let Cordelia find out anything. It would be like throwing an egg against a rock.
The power difference between them was just too big.
The only thing Cordelia could do was to make herself as strong as him.
But that was too difficult.
She didn't have his cunning or scheming mind.
Cordelia washed her face in the bathroom and sat on the sofa in the living room. She needed to have a serious talk with Ronan.
The sound of the door lock rang out. Ronan was back.
As soon as he walked in, Ronan saw her sitting on the couch.
"Didn't feel like going out?" He asked.
"Let's get a divorce." She said.
She didn't want to live with him any longer.
Who knows, one day he might just get an idea and kill her.
And he didn't even need to get his hands dirty. It wouldn't be traced back to him at all.
