The following day, at Ronan's office.
"Did you tell Cordelia about her grandmother?" Ronan asked Brooklyn.
As soon as Brooklyn arrived at Ronan's office, she looked as wilted as a frozen flower. She was frightened every time she saw Ronan.
Edwin's birthday was a private matter, and she wanted to celebrate it with him, so she agreed to let Ronan go. But this didn't mean she wasn't scared of him in the office. She was terrified.
"Yes."
"In the future, don’t talk to her about these things. Who's responsible if something goes wrong?" Ronan's tone was indifferent but laced with reproach and a warning for Brooklyn. It made her feel uneasy as if she had committed a grave misdeed.
Ronan's attitude towards Brooklyn was already quite mild.
"Okay," Brooklyn said.
"Also, the PR Department has something to do tomorrow. Don't tell her about it, and don't let her see the script you wrote for the media," Ronan said seriously.
"What's going on?" Brooklyn was clueless.
"Your supervisor will tell you. Go."
After Ronan finished speaking, Brooklyn left, still in the dark.
Soon, Mr. Robert from the PR Department sent Ronan a list of event procedures, which Ronan found satisfactory.
In the afternoon, Brooklyn finally found out what was going on. Deanna was going to attend a donation ceremony at Rainbow Elementary. She donated five million dollars to build a new elementary school for Evergreen Primary School. The money came from Lumos Enterprises.
As a member of the PR Department, Brooklyn had to go along for publicity, and she also had to provide her written script to the related media.
Deanna was planning to make a comeback, and doing some charitable acts would help her gain popularity.
Samantha was just a newcomer in the entertainment industry, while Deanna had been through the wringer for many years. Moreover, Deanna hadn't done anything illegal or disorderly. The tax bureau had checked, and she hadn't evaded taxes. If handled properly, she could quickly make a comeback and even become more popular, because no one could criticize a star with a charitable heart.
Brooklyn was angry when she saw all this. She knew Evergreen Primary School was the place where Cordelia had once donated computers. Now, Ronan was using it to whitewash Deanna.
Perhaps due to the lack of time, Ronan could not find a more suitable place, so he chose this one. But why was he doing this? During Cordelia's pregnancy, why was he helping Deanna?
Deanna was the murderer who killed Cordelia's grandmother.
