The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan) novel Chapter 333

Cordelia had felt each day drag on like a year.

The same applied to Ronan, who found himself incessantly checking his watch at work.

They both had never before experienced the drag of time quite like this.

Finally, at half-past six in the afternoon, Ronan finished his work and headed home.

Cordelia was the one to open the door for him.

“You’re home?” Sparkles danced in Cordelia's eyes.

“Yeah.” Ronan lightly ruffled Cordelia's hair, kicked off his shoes at the entrance, and went inside for dinner.

In the past, Janice never felt like a third wheel. But this time, she wished she could find a corner to hide. She suspected that if she weren't around, these two would have already been all over each other.

Janice had previously worked as an editor for a magazine. But when the magazine industry took a hit, and her husband had to move to the oil fields of Millstone for work, she decided to move with him. She had intended to find a new job in Millstone, but with the decline of print media and her son starting school, she chose to be a stay-at-home mom for a few years. Once her son entered high school, she decided to get back into the workforce. Her cooking skills, coupled with her neat and tidy habits, her dislike for gossip, and her intellectual demeanor, made her a perfect fit for the Evans family, where she had been working for several years now.

She had a good understanding of romantic feelings between men and women.

“Have some fish.” Ronan placed a piece of fish onto Cordelia's plate.

“Thanks. You must be tired from work. You should eat too.” Cordelia returned the favor by placing some fish onto Ronan's plate.

They seemed oblivious to their surroundings.

Janice sat there, feeling her face turning red.

Ronan and Cordelia retreated to their bedroom early.

As soon as they entered, Ronan pinned Cordelia against the door and kissed her.

Neither of them had ever experienced

Not being able to see her even for a moment was unbearable

Cordelia looked around their home, reminiscing about how Ronan had selected, touched, and used every piece of furniture. She felt a sense of familiarity even with the house itself.

“Did you miss me? Hmm?” Ronan whispered into Cordelia's ear.

“Yeah, a lot. Does that make me pathetic?”

Ronan pulled Cordelia over to the bed and kissed her again.

In bed, Ronan gently caressed Cordelia's stomach.
