The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan) novel Chapter 351

Cordelia didn’t stir, and eventually drifted off to sleep until Ronan gently nudged her.

"Still sleeping? I've booked us a room. If you're tired, go ahead and rest. I'll have dinner sent up to you," Ronan said, holding Cordelia's hand.

"A room?"

"That's right, a room."

"You see, the innocent lamb here doesn’t even know what 'booking a room' means," one of Ronan’s male classmates teased from the sidelines.

Without so much as a glance in his direction, Ronan told Cordelia, "They don't understand the concept of booking a room. Let's show them."

"I'll go wait for you in the room then," Cordelia released Ronan's hand and rose from the couch.

"Hey, Ronan, what's your wife waiting for you in the room for? Didn't she just have a baby not too long ago? Isn't that exciting?" The remark echoed behind Cordelia.

"Quite exciting indeed. You should give it a try," Ronan retorted.

Cordelia thought to herself, “When high school boys get together, they always tell dirty jokes, and the girls are here to relive their youth.”

Back in the room, Cordelia sank into the soft bed and was enveloped by the warm comforter. It felt so good. She didn't know how long she had slept but was awakened by a shortness of breath and a sudden kiss.

"Did you sleep well?" He asked Cordelia.

"What time is it?"

"A little past eight. Want to take a stroll around Birchwood College?" Ronan suggested.

"Sounds good." Barney used to teach at Birchwood College. She had once discussed the differences between Millstone College and Birchwood College with him, and naturally, she was curious about the place where Barney had worked.
