The secretary delivered Ronan's meal to the Finance Department.
This immediately silenced the behind-the-scenes chatter of the Finance Department, as all female staff members' attention shifted from idle gossip to jealousy. After all, Cordelia was just an ordinary employee like them, what could possibly be so special about her? Besides being a bit more attractive, but what's the use of beauty?
Just a few days ago, she had moved out of the Evans family residence, but now it seemed like she was back in Ronan's good graces.
"I'm already full." Cordelia said awkwardly to the secretary, "Could you take the meal back for me?"
"Mr. Evans has already eaten, he specifically had it brought for you." The secretary replied.
"Well, thank you." Cordelia couldn't refuse, so she put it in the fridge, intending to eat it after work.
Just as she finished tidying up her desk, she received a friend request from "Glamour Hub", Cordelia assumed it was an ad, so she didn't accept it.
Soon, her phone rang. It was a call from Ronan.
"Why didn't you accept the request?" His tone was as cool as ever, with a hint of seriousness.
Cordelia didn't think she had offended him today, so she figured his attitude had nothing to do with her.
"What request?"
"Glamour Hub is making a dress for you. Accept the request." After saying this, Ronan hung up.
Cordelia was left confused, not understanding why she needed a dress.
Ronan didn't offer an explanation, and she didn't ask.
She accepted the request.
The other party enthusiastically said, "Mrs. Evans, could you send us a full-body photo of yourself? We'll customize a dress according to your traits. Mr. Evans has already given us your size, but we'll need to customize the color and style."
Cordelia sent the photo.
"Mrs. Evans, it'll be done in three days. We guarantee your satisfaction."
Cordelia had a lot of work to do today, so she didn't think much about the dress.
Around four in the afternoon, Cordelia started to feel hungry. Normally, she would just go home to eat, but Ronan's meal was already on her desk, it would be a waste not to eat it.
"Our marriage has become common knowledge which can't be hidden anymore. I don't mind." Ronan said, one hand on the steering wheel, looking straight ahead.
Cordelia thought to herself, “It's easy for you, rich people can get married a second time, or even a fifth time, it doesn't matter. But what if we get divorced in the future? How am I supposed to get remarried? People will think that I got half of Ronan's wealth in the divorce, all my suitors will be after my money. How am I supposed to deal with that?”
Cordelia was not happy.
Ronan had once helped her solve a problem, and she was grateful to him for that. But now, his disregard for her situation made her resentful.
Cordelia's mood today was like a roller coaster ride.
All because of Ronan.
"What, not happy?" Ronan glanced at her.
"No." Cordelia's voice betrayed a hint of grievance.
"Are you afraid that after a divorce, you'll have trouble getting remarried?" Ronan's tone was slightly mocking, "You sure do think a lot."
Ronan hit the nail on the head, making Cordelia embarrassed. She could only lean back in the car and pretend to be asleep.
