When Cordelia dropped by Sienna's place, she found Sienna with a stormy expression. The scandal about Samantha's shenanigans at Harold's place was something Sienna desperately wanted to keep under wraps, particularly from Cordelia. So, she greeted her with a strained smile, “Well, look who the wind blew in—Ms. Haselwood herself. What brings you here?”
Cordelia didn't waste a second, her voice dripping with frustration. “Samantha’s made a mess, throwing herself at Harold. He’s not even into her, but she just won’t take the hint. It’s embarrassing. You need to drag her back home. Samantha and Harold are like oil and water. Do something about it, Sienna!”
With those words, Cordelia stripped away the facade Sienna had been desperately trying to maintain. Cordelia’s mocking tone made the whole situation even more unbearable.
“Pfft, Cordelia, stop talking nonsense. You land yourself a rich guy and now you think you can talk down to my daughter? Feeling smug, are you? Well, let me tell you, my Samantha wouldn’t even look at that useless Harold. And even if she did, I’d never let them be together. Don’t you dare think you can come here and shame us,” Sienna shot back, her voice reflecting the roughness of her less affluent past, which she had slipped back into now that she was no longer riding high as Samantha's agent.
“That’s the spirit! Samantha should find herself a wealthy guy. Harold’s no prize, so she should stop chasing after him,” Cordelia retorted with a challenging tone, knowing exactly how to push Sienna's buttons.
And push them she did. Sienna’s face flushed with anger and humiliation. “You... you... Cordelia, you’re not even your mother’s real daughter. My brother and I were the only ones who treated you like family. You should be grateful! But here you are, biting the hand that fed you with such venom!”
Sienna was seething, her words a jumbled mess of fury and confusion.
The tension only eased when Ronald stepped in, handing Cordelia a glass of water to cool down the heated exchange.
Then, the door swung open—Samantha was home.
