The Audit Department's swanky digs on the top floor were all set up, with Wyatt having already moved in. Every day, new job seekers were coming in to interview, some with master's degrees, others with PhDs, all with strong education backgrounds.
Cordelia took her bilingual resume and paid Wyatt's office a visit.
Wyatt was now forty-something. He was a friendly and humble guy with some serious language skills, so he and Cordelia had no trouble communicating.
"Ms. Haselwood, you can submit your resume directly to the HR department. I'm still new here and don't know the staff all that well." Wyatt said.
"To be honest with you, Mr. Wyatt, I've already submitted my resume, but the HR department bounced it back. But I really want to work in auditing. I was a top graduate at school, got scholarships every year, passed three CPA exams, and am currently working in the Finance Department. Just have a look at my resume." Cordelia said while exuding a cool and collected aura.
Wyatt gave her a nod and started perusing her resume. Cordelia was one of the few people who had brought in a resume in German, which impressed Wyatt.
"Ms. Haselwood, do you speak German?" Wyatt asked Cordelia.
"Oh, no, I don't."
"Then your resume..."
"My husband translated it for me." Cordelia reluctantly answered, careful not to mention Ronan's name to avoid any misunderstandings.
"You're married?"
"Yes, just recently."
"So when are you guys planning to have children? I know it's a sensitive question. Sorry, Ms. Haselwood. I don't mean to offend, but it's important for the job interview." Wyatt said with a shrug.
Cordelia got it.
Women often get asked this question during job interviews.
