Cordelia was yawning non-stop during dinner, looking dead beat.
Barney chuckled, "What time did you sleep last night?"
Cordelia blushed, "Grandpa."
"Alright, alright. I'll stop it." Barney seemed extremely gleeful.
Cordelia sneaked a peek at Ronan, who was eating with a poker face. As if staying up late had nothing to do with him. Wild at night and prim and proper during the day.
"But today is Friday. Hang in there and you can sleep in on the weekend." Barney said.
Thinking about this, Cordelia also felt excited. She looked outside, and the weather didn't look too good. Seemed like it was going to rain.
"Don't forget your umbrella when you head out." Cordelia reminded Ronan with concern.
"Got it." Ronan responded.
Cordelia started falling asleep the moment she got in Ronan's car, all the way to the office.
Just arrived at work and while tidying up, she received a message from Brooklyn: [Cordelia, are you free tomorrow? If so, come with me to my sister's place.]
Cordelia replied: [I might be with my mom in the morning, is the afternoon okay?]
Brooklyn: [Sure, we’ll go in the afternoon. They've invited me for dinner.]
Cordelia sent back an "Alright".
While turning on her computer, she thought, “Wait a sec, Brooklyn's sister's place is also Edwin's. Brooklyn mentioned before, her sister's family lives in a big house with everyone under one roof. Could it be... Brooklyn is going to see Edwin under the pretense of visiting her sister?”
But Cordelia was swamped today. As a financial manager, she was busier than she used to be. She was a dedicated worker and had no time to chat with Brooklyn at the moment.
The Lumos Star training was scheduled on Friday again. This time, Ronan was the speaker. It had been a month and a half since his last lecture.
"Huh?" Cordelia snapped back to reality. Caught daydreaming by the teacher in class, she and Brooklyn would probably be asked to leave. She was a financial manager now.
In her panic state, Cordelia made a gesture. She first pointed at herself, made a heart shape with her fingers, then pointed at Ronan.
"Who else but you?" Cordelia said innocently and pitifully.
Ronan was silent for a moment. He held the note, returned to the stage and continued his lecture.
Crisis averted, Cordelia breathed a sigh of relief. Brooklyn was even paler than before. Luckily, Cordelia reacted quickly.
But in the eyes of their colleagues, Cordelia openly expressed her love for Mr. Evans in front of everyone, how envious!
An opportunity to express and an unhesitant declaration of love.
They all remembered Cordelia's words.
